Kellogg Start Up Charges Ahead in the Energy Industry

Since winning just under $1 million in grant money at business plan competitions last year, SiNode Systems, a Chicago-based energy startup, is looking to change the energy industry with its innovative battery technologies. Since being founded by a team of Kellogg School of Management and McCormick students through NUvention, the start-up has quadrupled its staff, opened a new lab facility, closed a round of private financing, signed a partnership deal with a multibillion-dollar chemical company and reached a deal with the U.S. Department of Energy on June 16 that awarded SiNode a $1 million follow-on grant to develop its technology for electric cars. Kellstadt Adds Evening Cohort MBA
The Evening Cohort MBA offered through the Kellstadt Graduate School of Business is the newest addition to DePaul’s roster of MBA options. This accelerated cohort experience offers those who are already working a structured class schedule and the opportunity to learn as a unit.
The Evening Cohort MBA is strategically planned around networking and building relationships. Candidates will take the same classes at the same time and graduating together. IN MEMORIAM: Booth’s Gary Becker
The University of Chicago and The Booth School of Business lost a member of its family earlier this month when Gary S. Becker, a professor of economics and sociology at the University of Chicago, passed away at 83 years of age. Beck, who won the Nobel Prize in 1992 for his work applying economics to social issues, died Saturday, May 3, after a long illness. Continue reading…
Stillman to Expand Leadership Development Program
Seton Hall University’s Stillman School of Business has announced that alumnus Gerald P. Buccino has made a $1 million gift commitment to the university in order to expand the reach of the school’s Leadership Development Honors Program at the Stillman School of Business.
Buccino is a successful businessman based in Chicago who specializes in saving troubled companies and turning them into profitable enterprises. He is the president of The Buccino Foundation and a Seton Hall University Regent Emeritus. Continue reading…
