Ashridge to Host Session on Improvisation and Spontaneity in Coaching
On December 8, 2015, Ashridge Business School will host a session for alumni entitled “Creative Adventures in Coaching”.
Visiting faculty member Steve Chapman, who will conduct the event, will discuss ways in which professionals can bring the forces of spontaneity and improvisation into their business environments. Chapman, according to his biography, is “fascinated with how… life [in organizations] really works versus how it is supposed to work.” Chapman, whose experience encompasses fields as diverse as pharma, financial services, retail, the arts, and engineering, is interested in the influence of Gestalt psychology in business. Touting the benefits of “a culture of experimentation,” Chapman believes that corporate life can present leaders with opportunities to approach situations with a spirit of adventure.
