NIU Business Dean Given 2015 Outstanding Dean Designation
NIU Business Dean Denise Schoenbachler has been named the 2015 Outstanding Dean by the International Honors Society Beta Alpha Psi. Founded in 1919, Beta Alpha Psi is an honor organization for financial information students and professionals. George Mason Dean Named to Burke & Herbert Board of Directors
Congratulations are in order for George Mason University School of Business dean Sarah E. Nutter, who has been elected to the Burke & Herbert Bank Board of Directors, according to a press release on the school’s website. Burke & Herbert is Virginia’s oldest bank and has been owned and operated by members of the Burke and Herbert families since 1852. Nutter’s addition to the Board of Directors brings the board’s total membership to eleven. Kogod MBA Alumni Honored By School’s Dean
Last month, the Kogod School of Business’ Dean Erran Carmel recognized philanthropic alumni for their community service at the school’s annual Dean’s Dinner. The 2015 Community Leadership Award was presented to Chris Donatelli, MBA ’91, which honors an alumnus exhibiting exemplary leadership skills to make a positive impact in the community.
Donatelli was given this award based off his tireless commitment to some of the DC Metro’s most neglected neighborhoods. Just like at any job, when attending b-school it’s important to know who your boss is. At the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, that head-honcho is the school’s Dean, Sunil Kumar.
Kumar joined the school’s faculty on January 1, 2011 as Dean and Professor of Operations Management. Throughout his time as dean, Kumar’s primary focus has been on expanding the number of faculty members at the school, supporting the needs of various, diverse student aspirations, expanding the reach of the school’s programs, and executing a careful global strategy. Eli Jones Appointed as Dean of Mays Business School
Eli Jones has been appointed as the dean of Mays Business School. Jones, the current dean of the Sam M. Walton College of Business and the Sam M. Walton Leadership Chair at the University of Arkansas, will assume his post at Texas A&M on July 1, 2015.
“There’s nothing sweeter than the sound of home,” Jones said in a press release on the Mays website. “My wife and I are excited about returning to Aggieland and becoming an integral part of my alma mater. Texas A&M University and Mays Business School have been on an upward trajectory for some time, and I know that’s definitely a tradition that the talented faculty, dedicated staff and wonderful students want to continue.” Continue reading…
Sellinger School Names Getz as Newest Dean
Loyola University Maryland is happy to name Kathleen A. Getz, Ph.D., as the next dean of the Sellinger School of Business and Management. She will assume her new role at Loyola this summer, starting on July 1, 2015.
“Dr. Getz has brought visionary and strategic leadership to her role at Loyola University Chicago, where she raised money for a new building and secured a naming gift for the school. She also refocused the strategic plan for the Quinlan School of Business to promote leadership areas in family business, international business and emerging markets, risk management, social enterprise and responsibility, and supply chain management,” said Amy R.
