UCLA Anderson Entrepreneurship Bootcamp Helps Kick Start Vets

On Saturday, July 11, 2015, a group disabled veterans will use their military abilities of resilience, focus, and leadership to learn the basics of business ownership at the Entrepreneurship Bootcamp for Veterans with Disabilities (EBV) at UCLA Anderson. The event, which is hosted in partnership between the Institute for Veterans and Military Families at Syracuse University (IVMF) and the Harold and Pauline Price Center for Entrepreneurial Studies at UCLA Anderson School of Management, helps post-9/11 veterans with service-connected disabilities develop skills and tools needed to launch, grow and lead successful businesses. Vietnamese Delegates Visit Leavey to Explore Tech Possibilities

A group of delegates from Vietnam visited Leavey School of Business in order so they might better understand business practices in Silicon Valley, according to a press release from the school. Juan P. Montermoso, Professor of Practice, hosted the group during their visit due to his first-hand knowledge of Silicon Valley. Montermoso previously worked for Hewlett-Packard for 27 years before teaching at Leavey and is also currently the president of Montermoso Associates, a high-tech consultancy that focuses on helping organizations reach and retain their most profitable clients. McDonough Teams Up With African Foundation To Promote Economic Growth

The Niger Delta Partnership Initiative (NDPI) Foundation and the Global Social Enterprise Initiative (GSEI) at the McDonough School of Business announced a partnership to support the reduction of conflict and promote equitable economic growth in the Niger Delta region of Nigeria.

According to this Press Release on the McDonough Website, the two initiatice will work together to a) increase awareness of how conflict mitigation can lead to economic opportunity in the Niger Delta region; b) build the capacity of NDPI’s board, staff, and key stakeholders in best practices for organizational effectiveness and stakeholder engagement; and c) examine, showcase, and share best practices in corporate responsibility.
