NIU Professor Reports From Nepal Earthquake

On April 25, 2015, the 2015 Nepal earthquake tragically took the lives of more than 8,000 people and injured more than 16,000 individuals. Northern Illinois University College of Business professor Mark Rosenbaum, on a Fulbright assignment in Nepal at the time, was there to experience the massive earthquake that devastated the region.

According to the NIU College of Business website, Rosenbaum reported on the earthquake to major media outlets like WGN-TV, WLS-TV, CBS, the Daily Herald, Chicago Chronicle, and the Naperville Sun via Skype, despite having a partly-powered apartment before the building he was in partially collapsed as a direct result of shaking. La Salle Students Receive Fulbright Scholarships

La Salle University students Marc Vallone and Christopher Mayers (MBA 2014) have received Fulbright Scholarships and will spend a year overseas.

Vallone, who earned an MBA from La Salle in May, will travel to Brazil where he will teach college-level English and conduct research on how local organizations provide for at-risk youth. Mayers, who is currently a student in La Salle’s M.A. in Central and Eastern European Studies, will teach English in Pernik, Bulgaria, and teach English to high school students. He will graduate from La Salle in August and begin teaching in September.

MIT Sloan appoints innovation expert Hal Gregersen to head the MIT Leadership Center

MIT Sloan announced the appointment of Hal Gregersen, co-author of The Innovator’s DNA, to its faculty. Gregersen will serve as both the executive director of the MIT Leadership Center and as a senior lecturer in leadership and innovation in the Work and Organization Studies Group.

Gregersen comes to MIT from INSEAD, where he held the Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank Chaired Professorship of Innovation and Leadership. Previously, he taught at the London Business School, Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth, Helsinki School of Economics, Brigham Young University, and the Turku School of Economics as a Fulbright Fellow. Gregersen is also a Senior Fellow at Innosight, the consulting firm, and a former advisory board member at Pharmascience. Continue reading…
