George Mason University Ranked #47 is Best Universities Worldwide for Business List

China’s Shanghai Jiao Tong University recently put together the Academic Ranking of World Universities — a study of faculty and alumni data from 1,200 schools around the world in order to rank these institutions of higher education. In the rankings, George Mason University ranks 47th for economics and business — a testament to the George Mason School of Business.

In addition to the high rank in the world of business, Mason was also ranked among the top 151-200 of the best 500 universities in the world by. It is the eighth year Mason has placed in that tier in the Academic Ranking of World Universities since the rankings began in 2003. Continue reading…

George Mason Names Carolyn Grimsley Real Estate Development Program Director

According to a press release on the school website, Carolyn Grimsley has been appointed as the director of the Master’s in Real Estate Development program at George Mason University’s School of Business.

Grimsley began her career in the private sector doing market research, financial modeling, and transactional work in commercial real estate, first as a commercial broker in the DC Metro before moving in-house to support the portfolio expansion plans of a national franchisor. Continue reading…

George Mason School of Business Gets Green Office Certified

According to a press release, The George Mason School of Business Office of Academic and Career Services was designated as a Green Office Certified by the university’s Office of Sustainability thanks to steps the school has taken to achieve climate neutrality and sustainability.

The Office of Sustainability created the Green Office Program, a certification process that recognizes offices on Mason’s campuses for reducing their environmental footprint through waste minimization, energy efficiency, water conservation and even the creation of wildlife havens and native plant gardens. George Mason School of Business Signs Memorandum of Understanding with Thai University

In a recent press release, George Mason School of Business announced that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Thammasat University’s College of Innovation in Bangkok, Thailand. George Mason School of Business and College of Education Set to Launch Executive Chief Learning Officer Program

George Mason University’s School of Business and the College of Education and Human Development has announced its new Executive Chief Learning Officer program, making Mason one of a handful of colleges to offer a program dedicated to the quickly expanding role of the chief learning officer in the business world. Mason’s Online MBA Voted Among Best for Vets

According to a press release on the George Mason School of Business website, the school’s online Master of Business Administration program tied at No. 31 for best online MBA program for Veterans. This survey of online programs for veterans profiled 737 different universities and colleges.

Mason’s 20-month Global, National Defense, and Critical Infrastructure Protection EMBA programs is offered online, and gives executives and working professionals a world-class business education, without the career interruption of a traditional graduate business degree.

The rankings, compiled by U.S. News & World Report, were determined by examining: Affordability, accessibility, reputation, how much financial assistance is available, which federal aid programs the schools recognize, and faculty credentials.

“Mason values the experience and diversity veterans bring to both the campus and online environment,” said Jennifer Connors, director of Mason’s Office of Military Services. “We are committed to creating a pathway to success for our student veterans.”

GIJobs.com has also named Mason a “Military Friendly” school for the past six years thanks to the school’s commitment to supporting student veterans on campus and in their careers: Mason, with almost 34,000 students, has more than 3,000 military-related students, including active duty, veterans, reservists, guardsmen and dependents.
