Golden Gate Ageno Alum is Bay Area’s Most Admired CEO
At an event hosted by the San Francisco Business Times on November 11, 2015, Golden Gate University Ageno School alumnus Bernard J. Tyson received the Bay Area Most Admired CEO award.
Tyson, who received his MBA in health service administration from the Golden Gate University in 1984, is the CEO of Kaiser Permanente. The panel of judges for the award included business and academic leaders from across the country.
Ageno Prof Named Practitioner Editor of Journal of Financial Planning
Ageno School of Business distinguished adjunct professor Dr. Dave Yeske has been named the Practitioner Editor of the Journal of Financial Planning. Dr. Yeske will begin this position on June 1. The Journal of Financial Planning is a monthly journal that is focused on expanding knowledge in the financial planning profession. The journal was launched in 1979. The journal’s content consists of articles, interviews with professionals, columns and peer-review contributions that are beneficial to financial planners.
Yeske will serve as Practitioner Editor of the journal for three years. In this position he will work with the publication’s editorial staff to provide expertise on practitioner issues, challenges, opportunities and insight into emerging trend with in the field. He will also provide original writing work for the journal and act as an ambassador for the journal at FPA and other industry events and conferences.
Ageno Hosts Express Admissions Event
The Edward S. Ageno School of Business will be hosting an Express Admission event March 18, from noon until 2 p.m. The event will be held at the Golden Gate University campus. There is no cost to those who wish to attend. Registration for the event can be completed online and should be submitted prior to the event.
During the Express Admissions event, attendants will have the opportunity to speak with Golden Gate University’s enrollment team. Prospective students can find out how to transfer credit, finance their education and complete an application. Prospective students should bring their transcripts from all previously attended higher education institutions and work with GGU staff to enroll in classes.

Ageno Prof Named Top 100 By Financial Times
Edward S. Ageno School of Business Distinguished Adjunct Professor Elissa Buie has been named to the Financial Times Top 100 Women Financial Advisers list for 2014. Buie teaches the capstone Cases in Financial Planning course at the Ageno School of Business.
The Financial Times bases its rankings off of two elements. The first is the collection of names of prospective advisors by FT’s sister company, Ignites Distribution Research. The company contacts brokerage firms, registered investment advisors and other wealth management firms for names of those who fit the criteria. In order to be considered for the rankings, an advisor must have at least 10 years of experience and manage more than $200 million.
