Apps Open for HBS HBX CORe Program
Harvard Business School has opened applications for the spring and summer 2015 cohort of its online HBX CORe program. The new HBX CORe program is a cutting-edge online learning initiative that provides a primer on the fundamentals of business with a suite of three integrated courses.
The courses for the program include, Business Analytics, Economics for Managers, and Financial Accounting. The program is taught by a team of Harvard Business School faculty members and is designed specifically for rising college sophomores, juniors and seniors; current and prospective graduates; and those in the first ten years of their careers.
Applications for the program must be received by Feb. 4 for the cohort that begins on Feb. 25. Applications are now also open as well for cohorts beginning on April 15 and June 3.
HBS Students Partake in Global Immersion
A group of 935 first-year MBA students from Harvard Business School will set off to travel across the world as part of the FIELD Global Immersion Program. Students participating in the program worked with a network of global partners online and through conference calls to learn about the business they were assisting and helped to develop and refine the company’s product and service proposals.
Field Immersion Experiences for Leadership Development is a new component of the Harvard Business School’s case study curriculum. It is a required first-year course that spans a full academic year and is divided into three parts. The field method enhances the school’s capacity to educate leaders who make a difference in the world.
HBS Holds Campus Tour and Info Session
Harvard Business School will be holding a campus tour and an information session. The event will be held Dec. 19, 2014. The campus tour will begin at 1:15 and last 45 minutes. The information session will begin at 2 p.m.
The MBA Admissions staff will give the guided tour of the Harvard Business School Campus. The tour will leave from the Admissions Office in Dillon House. Registration for the tour is not required for those who wish to attend.
HBS Announces Doctoral Program Awards
The Harvard Business School has announced the recipients of awards for doctoral programs. These awards are the 2014 Wyss Awards for Excellence in Doctoral Research as well as the Martin Awards for Excellence in Business Economics. The HBS Doctoral Programs faculty chair, Kathleen McGinn, announced the winners.
The two recipients of the 2014 Wyss Awards for Excellence in Doctoral Research are Kate Barasz (DBA, Marketing) and Frank Nagle (DBA, Technology and Operations Management).
HBS Announces Collaboration Winners
Harvard Business School and Harvard Medical School’s collaboration forum on health care innovation, announced the finalists in its Health Acceleration Challenge. The challenge focuses on taking compelling, already-implemented health care solutions and helping them to grow and increase their impact through powerful networking and funding opportunities.
The HBS-HMS Forum on Health Care Innovation is led by a steering committee composed of Cara Sterling, Director of the HBS Health Care Initiative, HBS and HMS professors and health care professionals.
HBS Marks End of First HBX CORe Program
Harvard Business School’s new digital learning initiative, HBX, held a closing ceremony for its first offering on Sunday, Nov. 2, 2014. The event formally marked the completion of HBX’s first offering, HBX CORe (Credential of Readiness). The ceremony was held on the School’s campus in Boston.
HBX uses technology to enhance the potential to educate leaders who make a difference in the world. The CORe program is the primer for HBX. The program focuses on the fundamentals of business. HBX also offers specialized courses that focus on specific business topics. The final level of HBX is HBX Live!, a digital learning environment that will enable learners from all over the globe to connect in a real-time, one-of-a-kind studio classroom.
