Harvard Partners With Amherst College for HBX CORe
Harvard Business School‘s online digital education initiative, HBX announced that it has partnered with Amherst College to provide additional benefits for Amherst students participating in the Credential of Readiness (CORe) program. CORe is an 11-week online program for students to learn the fundamentals of business on a platform that was designed by Harvard Business School faculty.
HBX CORe was first offered in summer 2014. The next program is scheduled to begin on June 3. The agreement with Amherst College will work to increase access to HBX CORe for its students. HBX will reserve seats in upcoming cohorts for Amherst undergraduates. Amherst College will verify their financial need information to enable HBX to award additional financial aid to those with need. The additional financial aid will make HBX CORe more accessible for Amherst students.
HBS Launches New Recruiting Program for Women
The Harvard Business School will launch a new recruiting program, called PEEK that will address the underrepresentation of women in its student body. Of the 1,859 MBA students currently enrolled in the Business School, 41 percent are female. The new recruiting program will target women’s colleges to help increase the female study body.
The program will host about 70 to 80 rising juniors, seniors and recent graduates during a weekend in June and will expose them to the Business School and familiarize them with the MBA program at Harvard. The PEEK program will diverge from a more traditional visit. Program participants will partake in assigned case studies, live on campus and meet with faculty, current students and alumni.
HBS Holds Military Prospective Students Webinar
The Harvard Business School will be hosting a Military Prospective Student Webinar. The webinar will be held March 25 from 4 to 5 p.m. During the webinar, prospective students will have the opportunity to get an overview of the military community at HBS and hear from current students from the Armed Forces Alumni Association through a Q&A panel discussion. Those interested in participating in the webinar can complete a registration form online.
Harvard Business School provides student veterans with substantial support for tuition and other expenses every year through scholarship and government funds. For 2014-2015 Academic Year, the school has awarded over $1.77 million to US military veterans attending the MBA program. As part of the Post-9/11 GI Bill, HBS contributes up to $12,000 for each eligible service member (capped at 60 students), matched dollar-for-dollar by the US Department of Veterans Affairs. The school also participates in the Yellow Ribbon program.

HBS Holds MBA Information Session
The Boston University Graduate School of Management will be hosting an information session for its MBA programs. The information session event is for both the two-year full-time MBA and professional evening MBA programs. The information session will be held March 9 from 4 to 5 p.m. at the Boston University campus.
During the event, prospective students will have the opportunity to learn more about the programs and admissions process, as well as have any questions about the program answered by a current student or an alumni. The information session is open to all prospective students. Registration for the event is not required.
HBS Holds 2+2 Program Information Session
Harvard Business School will be hosting an upcoming information session for its 2+2 program This information session will be held at Caltech on Feb. 24 from 4 to 5 p.m. This information session will provide prospective students with information on the program and the necessary information needed to complete an application for the 2+2 program.
The 2+2 program is a two year deferred admission program offered to both college seniors and those currently in their final year of a masters program. The program is comprised of two years of professional work experience followed by two years of schooling in the HBS MBA Program. Ager graduation, students admitted to the 2+2 program will spend two years working in a professional, Harvard Business School approved position in the public, private, or nonprofit sector. The 2+2 Program is designed for accomplished students from all fields of study.
