New Director for Cranfield School of Management
Professor Maury Peiperl will take up the post of Pro-Vice-Chancellor and Director of Cranfield School of Management early next year. Professor Peiperl comes from IMD in Switzerland, a major international business school where he is Professor of Leadership and Strategic Change.
Sir Peter Gregson, Cranfield’s Chief Executive and Vice-Chancellor, announced the news by saying: “We are looking forward to welcoming Maury to the University. His unique strengths in technology and management mean he is an excellent choice to lead Cranfield’s School of Management from its world-class position in executive education to the next level.”

Harvard Business School is offering a Strategic Perspectives in Nonprofit Management program for Executives. The program will run from July 13 to July 19, 2014.

Suffolk University Sawyer Business School’s Richard Taylor Honored
Richard Taylor, executive in residence and director of the Center for Real Estate at the Sawyer Business School of Suffolk University, was recently honored with the Distinguished Public Service Award given by the Massachusetts Women’s Political Caucus at the 13th Annual Good Guys luncheon.
Since 2002, the Good Guys awards have been honoring men who are helping women achieve equality.
Taylor has always mentored and encouraged women to achieve high-ranking positions in the business community. As the former secretary of transportation and construction for Massachusetts, he appointed several women to leadership roles in his administration. Continue reading…
Harvard Business School To Construct New Executive Education Center
Harvard Business School broke ground on its campus for the construction of a new Executive Education facility—the Ruth Mulan Chu Chao Center—on Thursday, April 24, 2014. The ceremony included remarks by Harvard University President Drew Gilpin Faust, HBS Dean Nitin Nohria, former U.S. Secretary of Labor Elaine Chao (MBA 1979), Deputy Chairman of Foremost Group Angela Chao (AB 1994; MBA 2001), Former Prime Minister of Australia Kevin Rudd, U.S. Sen. Ed Markey (D-MA), and the Honorable Cui Tiankai, China’s ambassador to the United States.
The Ruth Mulan Chu Chao Center, a 90,000-square-foot, four-story structure that will contain meeting rooms, office and dining facilities as well as classrooms, is the result of a $40 million gift from a Dr. James Si-Cheng Chao and Family Foundation. This generous gift was given in tribute to the life and legacy of the late Ruth Mulan Chu Chao, beloved matriarch of this most prominent and accomplished Chinese-American family. Continue reading…
