Zarb Students Complete Bloomberg Essentials Designation
The Zarb School of Business‘s Department of Finance offers students the opportunity to obtain Bloomberg Essentials designation by completing a self-study program designed and provided by Bloomberg. The study takes place at Hofstra’s Martin B. Greenberg Trading Room, one of the largest academic trading rooms in the country.
For the last 10 years, students have been trained in this state-of-the-art facility, which is equipped with 34 Bloomberg Professional terminals. During the 2013-2014 academic year, a record number of 75 undergraduate and graduate students completed the Bloomberg workshops.
OpenLink Awards Zarb Students Grant for Technology Education Program
Hofstra University has been awarded a grant from OpenLink, the global leader in Transaction Lifecycle Management software for the commodity, energy and financial services industries, to support a technology education program taught by Frank G. Zarb School of Business students using tiny, low-cost portable computers to help elementary and middle school students learn basic programming skills.
The Next Generation Computer Programming Academy began more than a year ago at The Progressive School of Long Island, and has evolved into a vibrant partnership that builds the resumes of Hofstra information technology students while building the computer skills of the youngsters they teach.
Hofstra’s Zarb School of Business Launches Accelerated MBA Program in Manhattan
The Frank G. Zarb School of Business at Hofstra University announced the launch of an accelerated MBA program in Manhattan designed for the working professional that can be completed in less than three years.
The MBA in strategic business management is a 41-48 credit hybrid program combining online and on-site classes that will be located in the Manhattan Eye, Ear & Throat Hospital on East 64th Street, between 2nd and 3rd avenues. The first cohort, which has 25 slots available, will begin September 2014.
To introduce the Manhattan program, the Zarb School is sponsoring a series of free lectures on self-branding for career growth featuring Dr. Joel Evans, the RMI Distinguished Professor of Business and a professor of marketing and international business, on April 22 in Manhattan and April 30 in Melville, Long Island. Hofstra University’s Frank G. Zarb School of Business to host International Export Seminar
In partnership with the US Department of Commerce’s Long Island Export Assistance Center, the Center for International Financial Services and Markets of Hofstra University’s Frank G. Zarb School of Business will host a breakfast seminar, sponsored by TD Bank, on the topic of International Export.
Titled “Financial Resources for Going Global: Show me the Money”, the seminar will be held on April 1. Registration for the event is available on the school’s event page.
