Imperial Business School Signs Partnership with Abu Dhabi School of Management

Imperial College Business School will bring its expertise in business to new audiences in Abu Dhabi, thanks to a new partnership signed on May 13th. The agreement was signed with the Abu Dhabi School of Management (ADSM), an educational institution dedicated to developing the UAE’s future entrepreneurial leaders.

The partnership was agreed to during a signing ceremony held at the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, in the presence of His Excellency E. Mohamed Helal Al Muhairi, Director General of the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry; Professor G. ‘Anand’ Anandalingam, Dean of Imperial College Business School; and Professor Abdullah Abonamah, President of the Abu Dhabi School of Management.

Round 3 Application for Imperial College Business School Full-Time MBA Due Tomorrow

The Round 3 application deadline for the 2015 Fall full-time MBA program at Imperial College Business School is tomorrow, April 9, 2015. This is the second-to-last deadline for MBA programs at Imperial, with the Round 4 (and final) deadline being June 19.

Those who apply by tomorrow will do interviews by April 27 and receive decisions by May 4.

All applicants to the full-time MBA must submit their applications online. Applicants must have  a GRE score of 600 or higher, at least three years of relevant work experience, and an undergraduate degree from a recognized institution of higher learning (or the equivalent in educational or professional qualifications, including membership in any Institute of Chartered Accountants in the UK or Ireland). Those who aren’t graduates of UK institutions or residents in English-speaking nations will have to also pass and submit results of an English language test.

Imperial College Business School Students Retain Winning Title in Financial Times FTMBA Quiz 2015

A team of students from Imperial College Business School have won the Financial Times FTMBA Quiz for the second year running.

The 2015 Quiz, open to business schools worldwide, was compered by FT management editor Andrew Hill and aimed to test teams’ knowledge of business topics. The Imperial team was made up of students Will Thorne, Adi Khera, Jonathan Lai and Stephen Zhang, and alumnus Ram Ananth.

Imperial Business School Research Contributes to Cisco CREATE IoE Innovation Centre

Cisco have launched a new centre for collaborative research and emerging technologies that builds on the existing partnership with Imperial College Business School’s Innovation and Entrepreneurship Department and the Faculty of Engineering. Cisco CREATE Internet of Everything Innovation Centre, based in Hackney, is one of three facilities world-wide (the others being in Japan and Berlin) to link industry experience with university research and start-up development.

Phil Smith, CEO of UK&I, gave the keynote address at the Centre’s launch event. He emphasized Cisco’s role “in accelerating innovation with industry partners, start-ups, academia and the public sector”. He also spoke of the value of the partnership with Imperial and the work of the project’s lead researchers: Professors Erkko Autio and John Polak, and Dr. William Wu. Four start-up companies also presented on their experience of innovating with Cisco.

Imperial College Holds Information Session for Women in Business

Imperial College Business School will be holding an Information Session for Women in Business. This information session is ideal for women who are thinking of boosting their career by undertaking an MBA. This information session will be held March 11 at 6 p.m. This information session is by invite only. Those interested in attending the event should email their current resume to m.harniess@imperial.ac.uk. A formal invitation to the information session will be sent after review of your resume.

During the information session, prospective students will have the opportunity to learn more about the Imperial College MBA and to hear from current Imperial students and alumnae about their MBA experiences. Attendants will also have the chance to ask any questions about the MBA experience, the application process, and any other aspect of the program.

Imperial College Business School Study Cites Britain’s Rise As Entrepreneurial Center

The UK has become Europe’s most entrepreneurial economy and has climbed five places to fourth globally, according to an Imperial College Business School report.

The study, called the GEI, was carried out by researchers from Imperial College Business School in association with collaborators at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), University of Pécs and George Mason University. The GEI uses 14 index pillars such as start-up skills, networking and cultural support to benchmark countries’ entrepreneurial ecosystems. The research team analysed survey data from nearly half a million adults in different countries, combined with data describing the country’s “entrepreneurial framework conditions” – i.e. how well each country supports entrepreneurial activity.
