CBEAR Awards $300K for Agri-Environmental Research Projects
The Center for Behavioral and Experimental Agri-Environmental Research — or CBEAR for short – is leading efforts to find new ways to solve some of the nation’s agricultural and environmental challenges. CBEAR supports science-based research nationwide and translates these results into useful guidance for administrators and policymakers to craft more effective programs. Run jointly by the University of Delaware and Johns Hopkins University Carey Business School, the Center is funded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Economic Research Service.

Carey Students Participate in New Real Estate Challenge Competition
Students at the Carey Business School students are taking part in a year-long real estate portfolio competition. According to a press release on the Carey website, The Real Confidence University Portfolio challenge began in July and challenged teams from Carey and 14 other business schools to compose and submit a real estate portfolio using $1 billion in simulated capital. The winning team will earn a $50,000 university scholarship.

JHU Carey Team Wins Biopharma Case Competition
According to a press release on the school website, students from the Johns Hopkins Carey Business School took home the $6,000 first prize at the 4th Annual Biopharmaceutical Case Competition.

Johns Hopkins Pres. Daniels Presented with Exceptional Leadership Award and $500K Grant
According to Johns Hopkins news blog The Hub, JHU President Ronald Daniels has been named one of the Carnegie Corporation’s Academic Leadership Award winners. As part of the award, a $500,000 grant will be given to the university.
“I am deeply honored to be recognized among the esteemed recipients of this award,” Daniels said. “It is exciting to have the innovative work by our faculty and staff and Johns Hopkins’ commitment to Baltimore recognized by the Carnegie Corporation, a great champion of higher education.” Continue reading…
