Kogod Private Equity and Venture Capital Club Lives On
Five graduate students from The Kogod School of Business have revitalized a student organization at American University. After a year of inactivity, the Kogod Private Equity and Venture Capital Club (KPEVCC) found new life this past year. The resurgence of the once defunct club was outlined in an article published on the Kogod website.
Its return to competition surprised supporters, competitors and judges alike at the the Venture Capital Investment Competition (VCIC) Global Finals in Chapel Hill, North Carolina on April 7-9. Continue reading…
JD/MBA Students Complete Global Consulting Practicum in United Arab Emirates
A recent post on the American University Kogod School of Business website highlighted the exploits of two Kogod students who are pursuing the school’s JD/MBA dual degree program. The two students, Ayomide Oluleye and Michelle Emokpae, visited the United Arab Emirates (UAE) this past May as part of the program’s Global Consulting Practicum class. The trip provided the opportunity to work directly with a UAE-based company, giving students the chance to practice their consulting skills in a different culture. Continue reading…
New Dean Appointed at Kogod School of Business
According to a press release on the American University website, John T. Delaney has been appointed as the new dean of the Kogod School of Business effective July 18th. Delaney was previously employed at the University of Pittsburgh where he was a professor and Dean of the Katz Graduate School of Business from 2006 to 2015. Continue reading…

Wine Retailer CEO Speaks at Kogod Leadership Speaker Series
David Trone of Total Wine spoke at the Kogod School of Business‘s annual Alan Meltzer CEO Leadership Speaker Series about his entrepreneurial experience. Total Wine is the country‘s largest independent retailer of wine. Founded in 1991 by David and his brother Robert, the company started with one small store in Delaware.
