La Salle Holds Online Info Session
La Salle University’s School of Business is holding an online information session for its part-time and Saturday MBA programs. The event will be held October 24, 2014 from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Registration for the event can be completed online. The event is free for anyone who wishes to attend.
All of the MBA programs at La Salle University are internationally recognized for having earned Association for the Advancement of Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB International) accreditation. Less than five percent of business schools worldwide earn this distinction.
La Salle Holds Ceremony for New SOB
La Salle University held a groundbreaking ceremony for its new School of Business on Sept. 16, 2014. The ceremony was held on the building site at the intersection of Chew Avenue, Wister Street, and Penn Boulevard, off of Olney Avenue in Northwest Philadelphia.
Last November, the University announced that it planned to construct a six-story, state-of-the-art facility to house its School of Business. The new building has been designed to include amenities and spaces that facilitate the collaborative learning, networking, and teamwork necessary in today’s business world.
La Salle Offers Part-Time MBA Info Sessions
La Salle University is offering several upcoming Virtual Information Sessions for its Part-Time MBA program. These information sessions will be held online.
The programs will be offered on Tuesday, September 23 at 5:30 p.m., Wednesday October 8 at 5:30, p.m., Friday, October 24 at 10:00 a.m., Monday, November 3 at 6:00 p.m., Thursday, November 6 at 6:00 p.m., Monday, Novemeber 17 at 5:30 p.m., Thursday, December 4 at 10:00 a.m. and Tuesday December 16 at 5:30 p.m.
La Salle Student Selected for Kemper Scholars Program
La Salle University sophomore Matthew Fritz has been selected for the Kemper Scholars Program. The program helps prepare students for leadership and service, especially in the fields of organizational administration and business.
For the next three years, Fritz will receive a scholarship from the program. This summer, he will attend a Kemper Scholars conference in Chicago to learn about research done by Kemper Scholars who are college juniors and seniors and participating in internships.
In 2015 and 2016, Fritz will participate in internships. The first will be with a non-profit organization in Chicago. The second can be with a nonprofit or for-profit organization in the United States or overseas.
La Salle Students Receive Fulbright Scholarships
La Salle University students Marc Vallone and Christopher Mayers (MBA 2014) have received Fulbright Scholarships and will spend a year overseas.
Vallone, who earned an MBA from La Salle in May, will travel to Brazil where he will teach college-level English and conduct research on how local organizations provide for at-risk youth. Mayers, who is currently a student in La Salle’s M.A. in Central and Eastern European Studies, will teach English in Pernik, Bulgaria, and teach English to high school students. He will graduate from La Salle in August and begin teaching in September.
James P. Gallagher Appointed President of La Salle University
La Salle University has appointed James P. Gallagher, Ph.D., as Interim President. The appointment was announced by William R. Sautter, ’71, Chair of La Salle’s Board of Trustees.
“Dr. Gallagher is an extremely respected, seasoned president and accomplished academic leader who is ideally suited to maximize La Salle’s potential during this interim period,” William R. Sautter, Chair of La Salle’s Board of Trustees said. “In addition to his other duties as Interim President, I have also asked him to play a major role in the search for the next President of La Salle University and to participate in the further development of the University’s strategic plan.”
