CSULB Holds Information Session
The College of Business Administration at California State University, Long Beach will be holding an upcoming information session. This information session is for its MBA programs. The event will be held Jan. 8 at 5:30 p.m. The event will be held at the College of business Administration building at the CSU, Long Beach campus.
The information sessions offered at CSULB are short presentations on the programs offered at the College of Business Administration. There will also be a question and answer portion of the session at the end for prospective students to ask about the admission process, aspects of the program, financial aid options and more.
CSULB Named Top under $30,000 a Year
California State University, Long Beach has been named to Kiplinger’s Personal Finance Magazine’s 2015 list of the top universities costing under $30,000 per year. The school was ranked at no. 11 in the nation. The ranking recognizes four-year institutions that combine outstanding education with economic value.
The Kiplinger organization was founded in 1920 by W.M. Kiplinger, the company developed one of the nation’s first successful newsletters in modern times. The Kiplinger Letter, launched in 1923, remains the longest continuously published newsletter in the United States. In 1947, Kiplinger created the nation’s first personal finance magazine. The organization has led the way in personal finance and business forecasting.
CSULB Receives Grant from Dept. of Ed.
California State University, Long Beach has received a grant from the U.S. Department of Education. The total of the grant is $188,470. The grant will go towards strengthening Global Education at CSULB.
The grant will help fund the global education initiative titled, “Weaving Language and Global Competencies throughout the CSULB Curricula.” CSULB’s Global Studies Institute will lead the program. It will bring together departments from three colleges at the university, to strengthen global competencies and add degree value for students. It will also provide students with the global literacy necessary to survive in their careers of the borderless 21st century.
CSULB Holds Information Sessions
The College of Business Administration at California State University, Long Beach will be holding several upcoming information sessions. All of the session will begin at 5:30 p.m. and will be held on the CSULB campus, in the College of Business Administration Building.
The information sessions will be held, Dec. 2, 2014, Jan. 8, 2015, Feb. 5, 2015, March 3, 2015, April 9, 2015 and May 7, 2015. CSU Long Beach offers four different MBA programs. The programs include an Evening MBA, Daytime Accelerated MBA, Saturday MBA and MBA/MFA.
CSULB Recognized for its Diversity
Cal State Long Beach has again been recognized for its diversity. The most recent recognition of the school’s diversity is the ranking of no. 12 in the most recent listing of the “Top 100 Degree Producers” by Diverse Issues in Higher Education. CSULB was ranked in conferring baccalaureate degrees to minority students. This ranking is up one spot from last year.
The “Top 100” is a list of the best minority degree-awarding institutions of higher education in the nation. It is the only national report that showcases the success of U.S. colleges and universities in awarding degrees to African American, Asian American, Latino and Native American students. It is also the only national analysis to use the most recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.
CSULB Students Have Lowest Student Debt
U.S. News & World Report has ranked California State University, Long Beach no. 2 of the lowest student debt among regional public universities in the West. The report was featured in U.S. News & World Report’s Best Colleges 2015 Guidebook. It was also ranked the fifth best public regional university in the West.
Adding private institutions to the mix, CSULB ranked no. 33 overall among all colleges and universities in the West, a region made up of 13 states from Texas to California to Washington and includes Alaska and Hawaii.
