LMU Recycles 73.9 Lbs of Waste Per Student

Loyola Marymount University has won the 2015 RecycleMania Competition’s Per Capita Classic (total pounds of recyclables per person.) LMU recycled 73.9 pounds per student during the competition. During the competition, participating schools recycled or composted 80.1 million pounds of recyclables and organic materials, according to results from the annual program. This year, 394 schools with a total of 4.5 million students, in 49 states and Canada participated in the program.

Overall, Washington’s Antioch University Seattle won the contest, with just 4 percent of the waste generated on campus ending up in the trash, and the other 96 percent being composted or recycled. Recyclemania is annual competition that ranks schools by how much recycling, garbage and food waste they collect in two months. This year, the 3R Actions Challenge was added to the program. The 3R Actions Challenge encourages students to not only to reduce, reuse and recycle but to also share those actions via text, Twitter or a mobile app.

LMU Revises MBA Program

Loyola Marymount University will introduce a significantly revised curriculum for its MBA program beginning the Fall 2015. The new revised curriculum will allow students to complete the MBA program in only 24 months rather than giving students a maximum 5-year deadline to complete the program. Students currently enrolled in the program will continue with the old curriculum, while new incoming students for the Fall 2015 will begin this new 24 month program.

The redesign for the program will feature a two-calendar-year program that will be split into two sections. During the first year, classes will be structured as a cohort and will take all core classes together. During the second year, students will have the opportunity to choose from a variety of courses to complete electives and choose an area of emphasis.

LMU Holds Beta Gamma Sigma Induction Ceremony

The College of Business Administration at Loyola Marymount University held its annual Beta Gamma Sigma induction ceremony. The ceremony was held on March 22. Beta Gamma Sigma is the honor society for member schools of AACSB. Graduate students need to be in the top 20 percent of their class to be inducted into the society.

Out of the 49 students inducted into the 2015 class of Beta Gamma Sigma, five of those were MBA students and three were Executive MBA students at LMU. Two LMU professors, LMU Finance Professor Don DePamphilis and organizational design and development expert Patricia Palleschi, were also recognize with honorary faculty memberships to BGS at the ceremony.

LMU Holds EMBA Information Session

Loyola Marymount University will be holding an upcoming information session for its Executive MBA program. The event will be held March 28 at 10 a.m. at the Hilton Center for Business at the LMU campus. During the information session, prospective students can learn more about the EMBA program, the application process and requirements. Those interested in attending the EMBA information session can complete a registration form online.

The LMU EMBA program is a 20 month program that is made up of four integrated modules and one immersive summer session on innovation and entrepreneurship. The program follows a cohort structure. The curriculum for the program shifts from analysis and evaluation to strategic application and execution. The next intake for the EMBA program at LMU will be August 2015.

LMU Holds EMBA Information Session

The next information session for the Executive MBA program at Loyola Marymount University will be held March 7. The information session will be held at the Hilton Center for Business on the LMU campus at 10 a.m. During the event, prospective students can learn more about the Executive MBA program and ask any questions about the application process, financing and other aspects of the program. Registration for the information session can be completed online.

The EMBA program at LMU is a 20-month program that consists of four integrated modules plus an immersive summer session on innovation and entrepreneurship. The program is taught in a cohort structure and shifts from analysis and evaluation to strategic application and execution. Students complete two modules a year. Classes for the program are held on Saturdays at LMU’s West Los Angeles campus. There is one intake of students each year, and classes begin in the fall semester, in August.

LMU Holds EMBA Information Session

The event will be held Feb. 12 at 6:30 p.m. on the LMU campus. During the information session, prospective EMBA students will have the opportunity to learn more about the EMBA program at LMU, the application process and ask questions about any aspect of the program.

The Executive MBA program at LMU is a 20-month cohort structured program. The program consists of four integrated modules plus one immersive summer session on innovation and entrepreneurship. The curriculum shifts from analysis and evaluation to strategic application and execution.
