LMU Holds MBA & EMBA Information Session
Loyola Marymount University College of Business Administration will be hosting an information session for its MBA and Executive MBA programs. The event will be held Jan. 28 at the Los Angeles Athletic Club in downtown LA. The information session will begin at 7 p.m. Free parking is available for attendants.
During the event, prospective students will have the opportunity to learn more about both of the MBA programs offered at LMU. Attendants will also be able to meet faculty, staff and alumni of both the MBA and Executive MBA programs. The College of Business Administration is AACSB accredited and offers students small class sizes and global education options.
LMU Offers International Biz Course in Barcelona
Professor Yongsun Paik at Loyola Marymount University will be teaching a course titled, “International Business Environment and Practices” in Barcelona, Spain. The course will be held June 28 to July 29, 2015. Registration is now open for the course.
This course will introduce students to the international business environments and practices with a particular focus on Europe. Students will learn about national differences in political, economic and socio-cultural systems. The course will focus on the complex issues related to the global economy.
Angelina Jolie Presents LMU Scholarships
Angelina Jolie presented two full-ride scholarships for Loyola Marymount University during The Hollywood Reporter’s 23rd Annual Women in Entertainment breakfast. The event was held on Dec. 8 at Milk Studios.
Melissa Sandoval and Megan Castillo, LMU class of 2019, will join last year’s LMU/WIE Scholarship recipients, freshmen Paolo Franco and Melissa Martinez, in becoming the first members of their families to attend college. All four scholarship winners are high-achieving teenage girls who completed the Women in Entertainment Mentorship program.
LMU Management Students Help Local Hospital
Management students from Loyola Marymount University have helped to bring an important grant to a local hospital. The downtown hospital was looking for a way to increase the number of health professionals coming from Boyle Heights and South Los Angeles.
The students in Professor Charles Vance’s management consulting class were tasked with producing a portion of what has become the California Hospital Medical Center’s grant proposal. The joint effort resulted in an award of $150,000, which the hospital is now using to implement the program.
LMU Welcomes Largest EMBA Class
This fall, Loyola Marymount University’s Executive MBA Program welcomed the largest class in the program’s history. The newest cohort class is made up of 25 senior-level professionals. This is also one of the most diverse and best-qualified classes on record.
This cohort also has a more balanced gender ratio than in previous year, with 13 females and 12 males. In the past, the program has been predominately male. The average age is 37 with 15 years of work experience and 10 years of management experience.
LMU Exec. Ed. Students Discuss Space Travel
Loyola Marymount University’s College of Business Administration welcomed William Pomerantz, Vice President of special projects at Virgin Galactic. Pomerantz spoke to a group of executive MBA students on the company’s plan to take customers into space.
Pmerantz discussed the history of how space travel went from the province of government to private enterprise. He discussed SpaceShipOne, the first privately funded vehicle to fly into space and back, which happened in 2004.
