Sloan Prof. Awarded Deutsche Bank Prize in Financial Economics
MIT Sloan School of Management Professor Stephen Ross has been awarded the 2015 Deutsche Bank Prize in Financial Economics. This prize is awarded by the Frankfurt, Germany-based Center for Financial Studies to academics whose ideas influence other macroeconomists and policy makers every other year.
The Deutsche Bank prize includes a 50,000 euro award, which is about $56,000, and a related academic symposium that will be held in September 2015. Past winners of the prize include Eugene Fama and Robert Shiller, two financial economists who shared last year’s Nobel Prize in economics with Lars Peter Hansen.
Sloan Hosts EMBA Info Session in Miami
MIT Sloan School of Management will be holding an information session for its Executive MBA program. This event will be held March 17 in Miami, Florida. The information session will be held at the Miami Marriott, Biscayne Bay from 6 to 8 p.m. The event is open to all prospective EMBA students and is free to attend. Registration for the event should be completed online prior to the event.
During the information session, prospective students will have the opportunity to meet leaders from the EMBA program and its admissions and curriculum teams. The event will include a presentation by the program team followed by a Q&A session with current students and alumni of the MIT Executive MBA program.
Sloan Holds MBA Information Session
MIT Sloan School of management will be hosting an information session for its MBA programs at the MIT Campus in Cambridge, Massachusetts. The event will be held March 6 from 8 to 9 a.m. During the event, prospective students will have the opportunity to learn about what makes MIT Sloan distinctive, the flexible structure of the program, and the ins-and-outs of the application process. Attendants will will also have the opportunity to ask questions and meet current MBA students. Light refreshments will be served.

Sloan Hosts EMBA Application Tips Webinar
MIT Sloan School of Management will be hosting an MIT Executive MBA Application Tips Webinar. The webinar will be held Feb. 3 at 7 p.m. Olivia Linder, head of the MIT Executive MBA admissions process. The event is open to all prospective Executive MBA students for the program beginning in October 2015.
This webinar event is an interactive Q&A session. Webinar participants will have the opportunity to ask members of the MIT Sloan Executive Admissions Committee questions about the best way to put together a strong and successful application for the MIT Sloan Executive MBA program that will begin in October.
Sloan Students and Alum Featured in Forbes 30 Under 30
Six students and alumni from the MIT Sloan School of Management have been named to Forbes’ 2015 “30 Under 30” lists. The “30 Under 30” lists from Forbes acknowledges leading young people in 20 different fields. Fields that people work in range from games, law and policy to art and style and enterprise technology. This is the fourth annual 30 under 30 lists.
This year’s lists features 600 new young professionals. Forbes boasts that this year’s lists features new profiles that have not previously been named to the lists before. A panel of what Forbes calls “A-List judges” selects each person featured in the lists. Some of the panelists include, Isaac Mizrahi, Susan Wojcicki, Dan Levin, Daniel Ek and Taylor Hanson.
Sloan Holds Online MBA Admissions Chat
MIT Sloan School of Management will be holding an online MBA Admissions Chat. The online information event will be held Dec. 15, 2014. The online chat will begin at noon.
During the online chat, attendants will have the opportunity to join members of the admissions committee and current students in conversation about the MBA program. Prospective students will have the opportunity to ask questions regarding admissions, curriculum, student life and career support during the online chat.
