Colonel Tim Kopra is a NASA astronaut whose path to business school was somewhat rocky. In 2011, he was training for an upcoming space mission when a biking accident thwarted his plans.
Wilfrid Laurier Ranked #1 in Volunteerism by LinkedIn
LinkedIn recently ranked Wilfrid Laurier University number one in volunteerism based on an an analysis of 10 million professionals around the world who added “volunteer and causes” to their LinkedIn profiles. LinkedIn then looked at where these professionals attended university, and Laurier placed first in terms of the proportion of its students and alumni who listed volunteer experience. Loyola MBAs Found Company That Distributes German Cosmetics
BAM BrandsUSA is a U.S. cosmetics distribution company founded by Christian Dean, alumnus of the Loyola University Maryland’s Sellinger School of Business. Dean’s company, which he runs with fellow Sellinger classmates and co-partners Kevin Malone and Lisa Hanes and two additional business partners, now markets and distributes two German makeup brands.
Dean first had thoughts of starting his own company while studying at Sellinger in 2013, especially after realizing how useful of a resource the school’s faculty could be to him. Continue reading…
Northrop Grumman Case Competition Get Smith MBAs into Gear at Orientation
As part of the final week of orientation for full-time MBAs, members of the Robert H. School of Business Class of 2017 took part in the Northrop Grumman case competition. According to a press release on the school website, many first-year MBA students called the activity “a great way to prepare for the rigors of a full-time program and job search.” Continue reading…
