George Washington School of Business Prof. Received Competitive Manuscript Award

According to a press release on the GWSB website, the American Accounting Association (AAA) has presented George Washington School of Business Assistant Professor Youli Zou with its 2015 Competitive Manuscript Award. Zou received this honor for her manuscript, “Strategic Entry Decisions, Accounting Signals, and Risk Management Disclosure.”

BC Alumnus Gift Endows Deanship of Carroll Dean

Boston College Trustee Associate John Powers ’73, and his wife, Linda have made a gift to the Carroll School of Management that will endow the deanship of Dean Andy Boynton. Dean Boynton has been dean of the Carroll School of the last ten years. The endowment, named the John and Linda Powers Deanship Fund will honor Dean Boynton’s tenure at the school. The Powers’ gift will also go toward Dean Boynton’s plans for the advancement of the Carroll School of Management.

Dean Boynton’s plans include efforts to devote greater resources to faculty research and teaching, as well as innovative programs that further enhance the student experience in the Carroll School. In addition to serving as Dean of the Carroll School, Dean Boynton also participates in numerous University projects at Boston College. He recently co-chaired a committee of deans, faculty and university administrators to renew and revitalize the undergraduate core curriculum. He also works with departments at Boston College outside of the Carroll School, leading workshops to help shape their visions and innovative strategies.

Carey School of Business Faculty Members Discuss Devalued Chinese Currency in the News

Carey Business School Assistant Professor Alessandro Rebucci and Senior Professional Instructor Roger Staiger were quoted in news stories appearing in The Baltimore Sun and on WBAL-TV, Baltimore’s NBC affiliate, respectively.
