CSULB Announces New Director of Biz Grad Programs

Dean of College of Business Administration Michael E. Solt at Cal. State Long Beach has announced the appointment of Ingrid Martin as the next Director of Business Graduate Program. Solt has been Full Professor in the CBA since 2005 and continuously has been AQ-g, with 58 IC points of which 35 points are for peer-reviewed journals A-D. Ingrid has also regularly taught in our MBA programs.

In 2008, Martin was a member of both the Student Learning Task Force and the MBA Task Force. She has been a member of the Graduate Programs Committee since that time, often chairing the committee. Ingrid has helped develop the expanded orientations for AMBA, Saturday MBA, and Evening MBA programs.

Cranfield Lecturer Leads Study

Cranfield School of Management lecturer Dr. Jutta Tibias led a controlled trial to investigate the impact of mindfulness training on cognitive reasoning. The controlled trial was conducted on students from Cranfield’s graduate programs.

Dr Jutta Tobias is an invited member of a Parliamentary inquiry launched by the Mindfulness All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG), with specific responsibility to co-author policy recommendations on workplace mindfulness. The group will submit a report to Parliament next spring.

Smith MBA Students Come in Second at Rutgers-Camden Case Competition

A team of MBAs representing the Smith School of Business finished runner-up in Rutgers-Camden Business Schools MBA Invitational Case Tournament. The University of Western Ontario won the competition while other participating schools include the University of South Carolina, the University of Western Ontario, and the Smith School, which has participated most often in the history of the tournament.
