McDonough Teams Up With African Foundation To Promote Economic Growth
The Niger Delta Partnership Initiative (NDPI) Foundation and the Global Social Enterprise Initiative (GSEI) at the McDonough School of Business announced a partnership to support the reduction of conflict and promote equitable economic growth in the Niger Delta region of Nigeria.
According to this Press Release on the McDonough Website, the two initiatice will work together to a) increase awareness of how conflict mitigation can lead to economic opportunity in the Niger Delta region; b) build the capacity of NDPI’s board, staff, and key stakeholders in best practices for organizational effectiveness and stakeholder engagement; and c) examine, showcase, and share best practices in corporate responsibility. McDonough Prof. Appointed to MCL Panel
Lynn Doran, Professor at the McDonough School of Business, has been appointed as one of the 15 faculty panelist for discussing business education the 2015 Measuring College Learning (MCL) Project. The MCL is bringing together faculty from six critical fields of study — biology, business, communication, economics, history, and sociology — to reach consensus on how schools can effectively measure their students’ achievement. McDonough Professor Set to Receive AMAF’s Wilkie Award
Alan R. Andreasen, professor of marketing at the McDonough School of Business, will receive the 2015 William L. Wilkie “Marketing for a Better World” Award. The award is being presented to him by The American Marketing Association Foundation (AMAF).

World Renowned Chef Talks Business With McDonough MBAs
Chef Jose Andres, known for his restaurants in the DC metro and around the world, recently encouraged a group of more than 30 full-time MBA students from the McDonough School of Business to find what makes them unique and what inspires them.

REGISTER: McDonough’s Georgetown on the Hill Series
In his most recent State of the Union Address, President Obama endorsed passage of Trade Promotion Authority– Congress’ authority to negotiate trade agreements and consider their results. The move could impact the progress of three major trade negotiations: The Trans Pacific Partnership, a deal pending among 12 countries of the Asia-Pacific rim; the Trans-Atlantic Trade and Investment Partnership, which would engage all of Europe; and the Trade In Services Agreement, which would update rules and remove barriers to services trade among 23 countries.
In the wake of this, the McDonough School of Business’ Center for Business and Public Policy will host the event “Trade Promotion Authority: Now, If Ever” on Jan. 27 at the Rayburn House Office Building. Winner of McDonough’s Rural Entrepreneurship Challenge Announced
The American Farm Bureau Federation, the McDonough School of Business Global Social Enterprise Initiative and Georgetown Entrepreneurship Initiative’s StartupHoyas are pleased to finally announce ScoutPro as the Farm Bureau Entrepreneur of the Year. The honor was bestowed upon the winner of the the first Rural Entrepreneurship Challenge and announced at AFBF’s 96th Annual Convention and IDEAg Trade Show.
