REGISTER: McDonough Full-Time and Evening MBA Info Session
The Georgetown McDonough School of Business invites prospective MBA students to register for their monthly Full-Time and Evening MBA Admissions Information Session on Tuesday, January 13, 2015.
Members of the school’s admissions departments and career services team will go over the application process and host a workshop to give attendees a taste of what to expect as an MBA student. McDonough’s Rural Entrepreneurship Challenge Names Finalists
Four national finalists will pitch their business ideas to judges during Georgetown McDonough’s Rural Entrepreneurship Challenge at the American Farm Bureau Federation’s 96th Annual Convention and IDEAg Trade Show in San Diego. There is plenty of money up for grabs here– the four finalists will each win $15,000, and are vying to win the title Rural Entrepreneur of the Year for an additional $15,000, and the Peoples’ Choice Award for $10,000. In total, the competition will provide the finalists with up to $85,000 to implement their ideas.

McDonough Global Career Conference and Expo Allows to Students to Connect With International Executives
The fourth annual Global Career Conference and Expo (GCCE) at Georgetown’s McDonough School of Business did its part to help top MBA employers from around the world connect with graduating students eager to work abroad and across cultures. Hosted by the McDonough School of Business and Barcelona’s ESADE Business School, this year’s expo attracted students from 27 top business schools from around the country as well as representatives from 20 multi-national corporations.
McDonough Hosts Annual International Festival

McDonough Host Technoir 2.0 Pitch Competition
Five exciting tech start-ups from the Washington DC Metro pitched their ideas for business success in front of 600 listeners at Technoir 2.0, a pitch competition and networking event for African American and minority entrepreneurs sponsored by the McDonough School of Business.
“Organizations like Technoir 2.0 are helping to showcase the wonderful talent that comes from every corner of our community,” said Jeff Reid, founding director of the Georgetown Entrepreneurship Initiative. “It’s important for Georgetown University and the McDonough School of Business to engage with the local community. McDonough MBAs Assist in Aspen Institute Research
Three MBAs from the McDonough School of Business received some hands-on research experience while contributing to a new Aspen Institute impact investing report. MBA students Stefanie Miller, Michael Skvasik and Michael McLaughlin worked with Melissa Bradley, professor of the practice at the McDonough, to research and develop a survey of active and emerging investors to assess their activity and interest related to investments in education, economic security, and health and well-being.
