McDonough’s MBA Employment Report Reflects Increase in Job Offers

MBA Career Center at the McDonough School of Business released its 2014 MBA Employment Report. This year’s annual report shows encouraging figures that show increases in employer engagement, compensation and the impact of the school’s career services on students.

“The data and testimonials in this report reflect the ability of our MBAs to strategically leverage their career development resources, including the MBA Career Center’s programs and services,” said Doreen Amorosa, associate dean and managing director of the MBA Career Center. “We are proud that the entire MBA process, including our new curriculum and our enhanced career services, are preparing our students for success after graduation.” Continue reading…

McDonough Professors Take Time to Teach Brazilian MS Execs

Executives from within Microsoft’s Brazilian subsidiary attended a special executive education course at Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business. The five-day Microsoft Brazil Leadership Program addressed the tech company’s focus on giving their international executives insights on innovative thinking, international strategy and planning and implementing change management.  The trip also featured a trip to a young innovative firm, EverFi, where discussion focused on innovation, technology and managing millennials. McDonough MBAs Duke It Out For Charity in Boxing Tourney

More than 300 Georgetown Evening MBA students, alumni and guests packed the Sphinx Club for Georgetown’s first annual McDonough Fight Night– an event showcasing six fights between members of Georgetown’s student boxing clubs. The event raised over $5,600 for International Justice Mission (IJM), an organization that helps protect the poor from violence in 20 communities throughout the developing world. Continue reading…

Members of Georgetown McDonough Office of Executive Education set south to Bogotá, Colombia, to run a custom program for Pacific Rubiales Energy. The course focused on focused on non-linear strategic thinking as well as understanding the political, economic, and cultural challenges of operating in new locations and a changing industry landscape. McDonough Professor Teaches Course on Water Policy

Mark Giordano led a group of MBA Evening Program students from the McDonough School of Business in an Intensive Learning Course (ILE) that explored the private sector’s relationship with water policy.

“When a lot of people talk about what to do about the global water crisis,  they often talk about government action and bigger processes,” Giordano said. “But it’s actually businesses and individuals that are making the fundamental choices that affect water.” Continue reading…
