McDonough Offering Intensive Learning Experiences to Evening MBAs

The McDonough School of Business is offering seven Intensive Learning Experiences (ILEs) for Evening MBAs this summer. These courses cover topics beyond the school’s core curriculum and other electives, and are offered in short time periods usually lasting between one-to-two weeks.

“ILEs allow us to deliver innovative course topics that aren’t traditionally offered at a business school. Students are able to learn about issues that are highly relevant to their career interests — the business of water, for example — that don’t necessarily ‘fit’ in a standard curriculum,” said Kerry Pace, associate dean for MBA programs. McDonough GEMBAs Close Out Their Journeys

It’s time to wish the best of luck to the forty-two students from 14 countries who placed a capstone on of their 14-month journey in the Georgetown-ESADE Global Executive MBA (GEMBA) program on Saturday, July 26. Rural Entrepreneurship Challenged Launched at McDonough

The American Farm Bureau Federation (AFBF) has teamed up with the McDonough School of Business Global Social Enterprise Initiative (GSEI) and the Georgetown Entrepreneurship Initiative’s StartupHoyas to create the Rural Entrepreneurship Challenge. This new competition is an opportunity for students to put their best ideas and business innovations to the test. McDonough Prof. Examines Grad School Motivations in Millennials

McDonough Hosting Student Startups in Summer Incubator

The Startup Hoyas Summer Launch Program at the McDonough School of Business will host 17 entrepreneurial ventures this summer in its startup incubator program. This special summer program is designed specifically for current students and recent graduates who want to launch a new venture.

The program’s various benefits include: dedicated support from Georgetown faculty, mentors, and other experienced entrepreneurs; work space in the business school’s Rafik B. Hariri Building on the Georgetown campus; introductions to local investors and entrepreneurs, including access to the 1776 startup incubator; invitations to exclusive networking events; and the opportunity to present their ideas to the DC entrepreneurial community. MBA Students to Ask Buffett Questions on FOX Business Network

Look out for MetroMBA’s coverage of this story next Tuesday, May 6th:

MBA students at University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business, New York University’s Stern School of Business and University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business will have a chance to ask Warren Buffett, Bill Gates and Charlie Munger questions during a televised interview with FOX Business Network anchor Liz Claman. The interview will be on Monday, May 5th from 8:30-9:30am/ CT. Claman will also be taking questions live via Twitter using the #askLiz prompt. An excerpt from last year’s interview featured a Columbia Business School student asking Buffett about the impact of interest rates. Wakeforest University School of Business and Georgetown’s McDonough School of Business were the other two campuses featured on last year’s program.
