ALUMNI SPOTLIGHT: George Mason’s John Cotton Earns Executive MBA After Military Service
An article on George Mason University School of Business’ website profiled recent EMBA recipient John Cotton. The retired U.S. Navy Vice Admiral and third generation military pilot earned his Executive MBA from Mason in 2015, winning the Executive MBA Outstanding Student Award in the process.
Cotton told The School of Business that he “simply never had time to get an MBA degree.” He graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1973, going onto serve in the Navy in various positions and roles. Continue reading…
Johns Hopkins Pres. Daniels Presented with Exceptional Leadership Award and $500K Grant
According to Johns Hopkins news blog The Hub, JHU President Ronald Daniels has been named one of the Carnegie Corporation’s Academic Leadership Award winners. As part of the award, a $500,000 grant will be given to the university.
“I am deeply honored to be recognized among the esteemed recipients of this award,” Daniels said. “It is exciting to have the innovative work by our faculty and staff and Johns Hopkins’ commitment to Baltimore recognized by the Carnegie Corporation, a great champion of higher education.” Continue reading…
CEO Summit at Quinlan School Of Business Focuses on Corporate Responsibility
Nearly 100 corporate leaders from the Chicago Metro attended a CEO Summit at the Quinlan School of Business, an event that kicked off Quinlan’s Signature Series of events. The panel discussed the impact of corporate social responsibility on business, government and education, as well as the benefits to balancing shareholder and stakeholder interests.
