Drucker Professor Bernie Jaworski Receives AMA Lifetime Achievement Award
Bernie Jaworski, the Peter F. Drucker Chair in Management and the Liberal Arts at Claremont Graduate University’s Drucker School of Management, has received The 2015 Mahajan Award from the American Marketing Association (AMA).
According to the AMA, Jaworski is one of the country’s most highly cited and influential marketing scholars: three of his articles on market orientation have been cited more than 15,000 times and have led to a stream of other research from academics around the world. Continue reading…
GW Business Alumni Honored by DC Chamber of Commerce
Michael Akin, George Washington University School of Business BA ’03, MBA ’07, and current president of Reingold LINK, has been named the 2015 Young Entrepreneur of the Year by the Washington DC Chamber of Commerce. Kogod’s Second Professional MBA Cohort Takes the Classroom to Brazil
Prospective MBAs in the Kogod School of Business Professional MBA cohort spent a portion of their 27-month program make connections outside of the DC metro. After months of planning and preparing, the cohort, the second in the program’s history, departed for one of South America’s most emerging markets, Brazil, for an eight-day international stay.

USC’s Maxey Promoted to Assistant Vice Dean
Shirley Maxey, a professor of clinical accounting and management communication, has been named Assistant Vice Dean for Faculty and Academic Affairs of the USC Marshall School of Business. Starting July 1, Maxey will work with department chairs to implement new initiatives in teaching and faculty development. She will report to Gareth James, vice dean for faculty and academic affairs. NIU Professor Named Editor-In-Chief of the Journal of Accounting Education
According to a news blurb on the Northern Illinois University School of Business website, the Journal of Accounting Education named NIU’s Caterpillar Professor of Accountancy Natalie Churyk to serve as the Journal’s editor-in-chief. Churyk will serve in this role for three years.
According to the publication’s website, The Journal of Accounting Education is a refereed journal dedicated to promoting and publishing research on accounting education issues and to improving the quality of accounting education worldwide. The Journal “provides a vehicle for making results of empirical studies available to educators and for exchanging ideas, instructional resources, and best practices that help improve accounting education.” Continue reading…
