Foster Consulting and Business Development Center Celebrates 20 Years, 100,000 Jobs
The Consulting and Business Development Center at the University of Washington’s Foster School of Business celebrated its 20th anniversary in December. The celebration drew more than 650 people and a record $90,000 was donated to build the center’s program endowments. Launched in 1995 with the mission of accelerating student careers and growing businesses in under-served communities, the Consulting and Business Development Center has helped to create more than 100,000 jobs since its inception. JHU Carey CityLab MBA Team Working to Develop Historic Home in Downtown Baltimore
According to an article on the Hub, MADE: In America, a nonprofit organization that supports American industry, is working with five local universities, including the CityLab team from the Johns Hopkins Carey Business School, to transform the Carroll Mansion, a historic home in downtown Baltimore, into the “All American House.” The exhibit’s mission is to boost the profile of the historic, Revolution-era home by showcasing American manufacturers, many of which are from the greater Baltimore area. Haub Alum Offers Insight for Prospective Students
Haub School of Business alumni Amanda Sapio offers an insight into a class at Haub for prospective and current students. Sapio writes gives her input in the June 2014 issues of the Haub School Review.
Sapio writes:
“Students who register for Essentials of Management, taught by Tim Swift, Ph.D., are in for an experience that deviates significantly from the conventional management class. The class integrates service learning and academic coursework with a weekly volunteer requirement, in-class discussions, journal entries and various other assignments,” wrote Sapio. “Swift, an assistant professor of management, focuses on management concepts, best-practices and theories to help his students understand organizational processes within the for-profit and nonprofit sectors.”

BostInno Alumni Impact Awards Recognize Babson Alumni
Two graduates of the F.W. Olin Graduate School of Business – Babson College were honored as BostInno Alumni Impact Award winners at the inaugural Boston UpFront event held at the Revere Hotel in downtown Boston. Sarah Hodges’ M’10 and Jon Feinman’s M’10 companies were among six total startups recognized as being exceptionally influential in Boston.
