Northeastern Launches New Data Science Programs
Northeastern University will launch a new suit of interdisciplinary data science programs. The programs will be aimed at training the next generation of data managers and analysts, a particularly pressing need in light of the field’s ongoing talent shortage.
The suite will be comprised of four distinct programs, including graduate certificates in data science and urban informatics as well as master’s degrees in urban informatics and business analytics. The program curriculum will harness the expertise of faculty members in three colleges: the College of Computer and Information Science, the College of Social Sciences and Humanities, and the D’Amore-McKim School of Business.
D’Amore-McKim Holds Part-Time MBA Webinar
The D’Amore-McKim School of Business at Northeastern University will be holding an information webinar for its part-time MBA program. The part-time MBA webinar will be held Jan. 9, 2015. It will begin at noon and will last one hour.
The part-time MBA program allows students to complete their MBA degree in as little as two years or as long as seven years. Students have the choice of committing to courses just one night a week, or to accelerate their degree by taking multiple classes that fit their schedule, including classes online and on Saturdays.
D’Amore-McKim Ranked for International Business
U.S. News and World Report has ranked the D’Amore-McKim School of Business’s International Business Programs no. 8 in the nation. This ranking was published in U.S. News and World Report’s recent 2015 rankings.
The U.S. News and World Report categorizes international MBA students as those student who master global issues through specialized courses and study abroad experiences and may find jobs in international business or at multinationals. The international business rankings were a part of the list of best business schools.
D’Amore-McKim Holds Global Conference on Innovation
D’Amore-McKim School of Business will hold a global conference on innovation on Thursday, October 16, 2014. The Institute for Global Innovation Management & IP/Innovation Connection Joint Conference will bring together academics, entrepreneurs, innovation managers and policy experts from a variety of disciplines, to discuss design in today’s world.
Design is driving new business strategies and practices, re-shaping markets and redefining demand. Many organizations as well as individuals are trying to incorporate design into their thinking and practices. This includes industries ranging from finance to healthcare. Traditional design methods are being challenged by 3D printing, rapid prototyping and the hacker/maker communities. Participants will hear from early adopters and thought leaders about the impact and challenge of design in the increasingly competitive and digital world.
D’Amore-McKim Holds MBA Info Programs
The D’Amore-McKim School of Business at Northeastern University is offering several upcoming information events for its executive, evening and full-time MBA programs. These programs are opportunities for prospective students to gain insight into the program and its options for learning. These programs include webinars, on-campus information sessions and classroom visits.
The September events will be kicked off with a webinar for the Evening MBA program. It will be held September 5, 2014 from 12:00 p.m. The webinar will last for one hour. There will be two information sessions for the Executive MBA programs. The first will be held on September 6, 2014 and the second on September 27, 2014.
Northeastern Students Attend India Marketing Program
A group of Northeastern students got some in-depth experience with lessons in marketing this summer during a marketing-focused Dialogue of Civilizations program in India. Where students are developing two marketing campaign proposals for a Mumbai advertising agency.
Through the Dialogue of Civilizations, which is one of Northeastern’s global experiential learning programs, students spend several weeks in cities across the globe, where they immerse themselves in the local culture and connect with their peers in different national, cultural, political, and social environments.
Through these experiences, Northeastern students acquire valuable skills and increased cultural awareness that they bring back to the classroom and to their other experiential learning opportunities.
