Graziadio School Professor Writes on Achievement of Respect over Likability
Dr. Bernice Ledbetter of Pepperdine University’s Graziadio School of Business and Management recently wrote a piece for the Huffington Post which addressed the idea of respect vs. likability in the world of business.
Ledbetter teaches Organizational Theory and Management at Graziadio. She writes, “I’ve learned the hard way that being well liked doesn’t mean that others will adopt your point of view or vision. Being respected is the key.” The article focuses on gaining the support of key stakeholders when trying to instate new ideas, concepts or practical changes in the workplace.

Graziadio Student Shares MBA Experience
Jordann Schoonover is a Full-Time MBA student at the Graziadio School of Business and Management. She first came to Pepperdine University for her undergraduate degree. She decided to return to Pepperdine for her MBA because of her positive experience with the professors. “Teachers truly care about us and they’re here because they love what they do, which is teaching us, and helping us become a part of the real world,” she said.
In her experience at Graziadio, Schoonover fond that the professors for the MBA program shared the same passion for teaching and for their students. “Every teacher is here to make a socially responsible individual who is not going out into the world just simple to make the bottom line bigger but to create individuals that are going to better the world for future generation,” Schooner said.
Graziadio Creates Institute of Real Estate
The Graziadio School of Business and Management at Pepperdine University has announced that it has partnered with Fred Sands, to create the Fred Sands Institute of Real Estate. Sands is one of California’s most successful real estate industry icons and chairs and is sole owner of Vintage Real Estate, LLC, which acquires and revitalizes regional malls across the nation.
Mr. Sands has also served as the chairman of California’s second largest real estate and financial services company, which was sold to Coldwell Banker in 2000. He also currently chairs Vintage Fund Management, LLC, which invests in growth companies and historically has generated returns that would place it in the top quartile of comparable private equity firms and is the founder and current president of the Museum of Contemporary Art.
Graziadio Hosts Fully Employed Program Coffee Chat
The Graziadio School of Business and Management will be hosting an upcoming information session for the fully employed programs. This event, the Fully Employed Coffee Chat, will be held March 17 from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. at Pain du Monde in Newport Beach, California.
During the event, prospective students will have the opportunity to meet with a pre-admission advisor to learn more about the Fully Employed Programs at the Graziadio Business School. In addison to learning more about the program options, prospective students will also be able to learn more about the flexible course schedule offerings and career rescues available to Graziadio students. There is no cost to attend the event. The information session is open to all prospective students. Those interested in attending can complete an online registration form.
Graziadio Holds Admissions Interviews in China
The Graziadio School of Business and Management at Pepperdine University will be hosting an Admissions Interview event in China. This event is for prospective students looking for more information on the school’s full-time MBA programs. The event will be held at the Guangzhou Marriott Hotel Tianhe. Recruiter, Yabin Zheng will conduct admission interviews. The event will begin at 9:30 a.m. China Standard Time.
During the interview, prospective students will be able to ask Zheng about the full-time programs offered, admissions processes, international requirements and more. Graziadio offers an accelerated, two-year and International MBA programs.
