Smith School Alumni Successfully Navigates “Shark Tank” TV Show For $100K Investment
Evan Lutz, a 2014 alum of the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business, recently appeared on ABC’s Shark Tank, according to an article by the school’s Office of Marketing Communications. The television show challenges contestants to pitch a business idea to a panel of potential benefactors (including Mark Cuban) in order to receive investment capital. Lutz appeared on the January 8th episode and ultimately received a $100,000 investment from Robert Herjavec for a 10 percent stake in Hungry Harvest.
Smith School International Education Week Kicks Off With Global Competence in Business Panel

Business Athlete Panel Set to Speak During Smith School Business Summit
According to a press release on the school website, The Robert H. Smith School of Business’s Center for Leadership, Innovation, and Change is sponsoring a panel on the “Business Athletes” leadership model at the Smith School Business Summit on Nov. 13. Students and alumni are invited to RSVP for the event.

Team of Smith School MBAs Win Consulting Competition
The Smith MBA Consulting Club recently hosted the final round of the fourth annual Cognizant Business Consulting Case Competition, which challenged competing teams of students to solve a health care, insurance or IT issue by creating a competitive advantage via “Code Halos.” According to a press release on the Smith School website, a team made up of four MBA students from the Robert H.
