SF State to Hold Business Ethics Week
The San Francisco State University College of Business and the Center for Ethical and Sustainable Business will be hosting Business Ethics Week. The event will be held Nov. 3-7, 2014. Events will be held at both San Francisco State University’s main campus and its downtown campus.
Business Ethics Week is held each November and involves over 5,500 undergraduate and graduate business students and faculty as they hear from business and industry experts on topics related to business ethics and best practices, corporate social responsibility, the environment and sustainable business strategies. Faculty host a specific topic, case study, speaker, film or other activity directly related to business ethics and best practices in each class section during that week.
MassMutual Names SanFran State Alum Relationship Manager
MassMutual Retirement Services has appointed San Francisco State University alumnus Gary Bozin as one of eight new relationship managers to further support retirement plan sponsor clients.
Bozin was named as a senior relationship manager for government-sponsored retirement plans in northern California, Oregon, Washington and Alaska. He reports to Amy Humphrey, assistant vice president, government markets.
These managers will be responsible for parts of New York, New Jersey, New England, California, Arizona, Nevada, Oregon, Washington and Alaska. The new appointments are part of a plan to increase the number of relationship managers from the current staff of 98 to a new total of 110 to help keep pace with sales efforts.
San Fran State Offers M&A Workshop
The San Francisco State University College of Business is hosting an Innovations in Making Mergers and Acquisitions Workshop on Thursday, August 14, 2014. The program will be held at the San Francisco State University downtown campus, on the sixth floor.
Attendees will learn from experts and share insights with other attendees that are engaged in Marketing and Acquisitions programs. Program attendees will learn the human, cultural, and organizational factors that matter most in eventual M&A success, minimize employee distraction from performance during M&A and how to maximize commitment to the new organization, see how culture clash between parties can actually be used to enhance M&A performance, share your experiences with experienced M&A experts and others with similar issues and opportunities, apply lessons learned from the workshop directly to your M&A program and smartly manage integration planning and implementation to realize desired synergies and build a new organization that is truly more than the sum of its parts.
