SDSU Fowler Welcomes New Dean Lance Nail
The Fowler College of Business at San Diego State University has named a new dean: Lance Nail, Ph.D. Nail was the previous dean of the business school at Texas Tech University as well as the business school at the University of Southern Mississippi. SDSU Sports MBA Team Wins Case Competition
For the first time, the SDSU Fowler College of Business Sports MBA program won its own case competition. The 8th annual SDSU International Sports MBA Case Competition has invited teams from MBA programs around the world to compete for almost a decade. This past year, teams came from MBA programs at schools such as Hong Kong University of Science & Technology, the University of Oxford, the University of Michigan, UCLA and USC. SDSU Raises $800 Million in University-Wide Fundraising Campaign
Ten years ago, San Diego State University launched a fundraising campaign to benefit the university’s students, faculty and staff. In 2007, that goal was just to raise $500 million. In 2014, the goal was increased by half to $750 million. Thanks to a successful fundraising year so far, The Campaign for SDSU has raised $800 million in its first-ever, university-wide fundraising campaign.
San Diego State Sports MBA Program Discuss Baseball
Sports business can be complicated, particularly when discussing global growth. At least that’s what Chris Park, Major League Baseball’s (MLB) Senior Vice President for Growth, Strategy & International, had to say at a recent event hosted in San Diego and attended by SDSU Sports MBA students. USD Business Professor Explains Millennial Creativity Problems
According to a recent study by IBM, the number one employee trait most desired by 1,500 executives is creativity. Unfortunately, the same survey revealed that more than 50 percent of executives struggle with recognizing and embracing creative solutions. SDSU Raises $180 Million in Scholarships
Over the last ten years of donor campaigning, San Diego State University has raised $180 million for scholarships, including $86 million for endowed scholarships. These scholarships have been awarded to 18,803 individual students across all departments, degrees and situations on campus. In fact, the scholarships have supported hundreds of different student activities including academic endeavors, research, leadership, entrepreneurship, creative arts, athletics, clubs, study abroad and internships.
