REGISTER:  NIU’s Social Impact Summit 2015 on April 10

The 3rd Annual Social Impact Summit is set to feature national leaders in the social impact space on April 10, 2015 at the NIU Barsema Alumni & Visitors Center. The event, created by Northern Illinois College of Business students, has three goals:  to educate those in attendance about social entrepreneurship, to inspire them to become changemakers, and to facilitate networking for those interested in the social space. McDonough Evening MBA Win Pitch Competition With Local Roots Farms

Daniel Kuenzi, an evening MBA student at Georgetown McDonough, recently won the pitch competition at Georgetown’s Evening of Social Innovation. One of 12 groups of Georgetown students who presented socially conscious business ideas at the event sponsored by the Georgetown Entrepreneurship Initiative, Kuenzi envisions a world where produce is fresh, affordable and accessible. REGISTER: Smith School’s 7th Social Enterprise Symposium

The Center for Social Value Creation at the Robert H. Smith School of Business will be presenting the 7th Social Enterprise Symposium (SES) on Friday, Feb. 27, 2015 from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The event is held at the Stamp Student Union, University of Maryland and in conjunction with the three-day AshokaU Exchange, which is an international convening on social entrepreneurship in higher education. Socially-minded Entrepreneurs Selected at Cambridge Judge School Event

A new cohort of 14 ventures with social impact was announced by Social Incubator East, a Cambridge-based organisation, which selected the ventures at a three-day event at Cambridge Judge Business School.

The ventures – which come from a range of fields including genomics, finance and community arts – will receive 12 months of business support, office space and loan finance as they seek to scale up. This support includes training from Cambridge Judge experts aimed at creating viable business plans and securing early customers.
