Drexel Alum’s Eight Oaks Craft Distillers Possesses the Spirit of Sustainability
Before going on to pursue his MBA degree at Drexel University’s LeBow College of Business, Chad Butters (MBA, 2012) had spent twenty-five years in aviation, serving both in military and civilian industries.
After Drexel, Butters went on to head Lehigh Valley’s Eight Oaks Craft Distillers, a local, sustainable, spirits business. With Eight Oaks, Chad found a way to synthesize the skills he gained in the military and at Lebow.
LBS MBA Creates Weather Prediction Tool for African Farmers
London Business School’s (LBS) MBA program is home to various launch points for social impact ventures, in particular through the Global Social Venture Competition.
MBA student Tom Vanneste participated in last year’s competition with his venture Kukua, which provides rural farmers in Africa with a weather prediction tool.
REGISTER: NIU’s Social Impact Summit 2015 on April 10
The 3rd Annual Social Impact Summit is set to feature national leaders in the social impact space on April 10, 2015 at the NIU Barsema Alumni & Visitors Center. The event, created by Northern Illinois College of Business students, has three goals: to educate those in attendance about social entrepreneurship, to inspire them to become changemakers, and to facilitate networking for those interested in the social space.
