St. John’s Opens Veterans Success Center
St. John’s University has successfully opened its new Veterans Success Center. A ribbon cutting ceremony was held at Marillac Hall on the Queens campus Feb. 5 to celebrate the opening of the center. The Veterans Success Center will provide provide tutoring, career advisement and other services for student veterans. Student veterans can use the center to conduct career center preparation, résumé writing and library research.
The center was created with the help of the St. John’s Student Veterans Association (SVA). The five organizational pillars of the SVA are academics, career, leadership, service and transition. The association provides support and advocacy for veterans making the adjustment from the military to life on campus. The Mayor’s Office of Veterans’ Affairs will also support the center by sending representatives to the center twice a month and student veterans will also receive assistance filing their e-benefits and taxes.
Tobin Hosts MBA World Tour in New York
The QS MBA World Tour fair at the Peter J. Tobin College of Business will be stopping in New York. The event will be held Feb. 7 at the Hilton on the Ave. of the Americas. During the event, prospective students can meet with admissions representatives to find out more about the MBA program at the Tobin School and the application process for the program.
The event will begin at 1:00 p.m. with a pre-fair panel for attendants. The information session will begin at 3:30. Admissions representatives will be available to meet with until 6:00 p.m. Tobin offers both full-time and part-time MBA programs. Both programs are comprised of 54 credits that are divided in to eight required courses, four electives to complete a concentration, one international business elective, a required capstone course, two related non-field courses and one free elective.
Tobin Holds MBA Info Session at Queens Campus
The Tobin School of Business will be holding a Graduate Programs Information Session. The event will be held at the Queen’s Campus. It will be held Jan. 29 from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. The event is free and open to any of the prospective students.

The Peter J. Tobin College of Business at St. John’s University is holding a graduate information session. The event will be held Dec. 10, 2014 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the St. John’s Manhattan campus. This event is open to all prospective graduate students.
During the event, admissions and program experts will be there to provide prospective students with insight on the value of an advanced business degree, a detailed overview of Tobin’s catalog of programs and guidance with the application process.

The Peter J. Tobin College of Business at St. John’s University will be holding a graduate information session at its Staten Island campus. The event will be held Nov. 6, 2014 from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. This event is open to all prospective students.

SJU Holds Second Annual Career Expo
Over 2,100 St. John’s students and young alumni met with representatives from nearly 150 prospective employers at the second annual St. John’s University Career Expo and Academic Internship Fair. The fair was held on October 2 at the Taffner Field House on the Queens, NY, campus.
University Career Services organized the event with the support of the College of Professional Studies, The Peter J. Tobin College of Business, St. John’s College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, The School of Education, and the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences.
