Stanford Holds MBA Info Session

Stanford University Graduate School of Business will hold an information session for its MBA program. The event will be held Dec. 19, 2014. It will be held on the Stanford campus from 10:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.

During the 90-minute program, an MBA Admissions Office representative will provide a detailed overview of the MBA Program’s distinctive features and the Stanford Graduate School of Business admission process. Stanford Holds Exec. Program Preview

The Stanford Graduate School of Business will be holding an Executive Program Preview. The event will be held Jan. 21, 2015 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. online. The online event is open to current students, alumni and prospective students.

During the information session, attendants will hear directly from the program executive director and past participants from leading global companies. Stanford Executive Program alumni will share their insights, stories, and transformational moments and answer questions about the program. Attendants will also learn why the alumni chose Stanford, how they made their decisions to attend SEP, what their key takeaways were and more.

Stanford Launches Free Public Online Course

Stanford Graduate School of Business has launched a free, self-paced online course open to anyone called “Stocks and Bonds: Risks and Returns”. The course focuses on the finance fundamentals behind stocks and bonds, as well as how to make smart decisions as an investor. Finance Professor Joshua Rauh will lead the class.

The content covered by Rauh during the course will include an overview of the bond market, with special attention to corporate and municipal bonds; interest rates and their impact on the valuation of treasury bonds; the fundamentals of the stock market; and an analysis of how to make smart decisions as an investor.

Stanford Welcomes New Tenure Faculty and Lecturers

Stanford Graduate School of Business welcomed seven tenure-line faculty and 17 lecturers from a range of disciplines for the 2014-2015 academic year. They will complement a faculty of more than 250 professors, adjunct faculty, visiting faculty and lecturers who contribute to the rich experience for students in the school’s MBA, PhD, Master of Science (MSx), and other business programs.

Stanford Ignite Program Returns to Bangalore

Stanford University Graduate School of Business will return to Bangalore with the Stanford Ignite program March 6 through May 24, 2015. Stanford Ignite is an 11-week certificate program for innovators and entrepreneurial thinkers.

The program is designed to deliver the same highly personal and immersive instruction that executives and students at Stanford experience. It is aimed at technical professionals, innovators and entrepreneurs with no previous graduate management education. The program is also appropriate for non-business graduate students, post-doctoral scholars, engineers and scientists.

The Stanford Institute for Innovation in Developing Economies (SEED) at the Stanford University Graduate School of Business, is holding a webinar for those seeking more information about the program’s volunteer options. The webinar will be held August 27, 2014 at 10:00 a.m.

SEED is seeking innovative business leaders to volunteer in Africa and lead path-breaking initiatives that transform local businesses into market leaders, impacting lives on a massive scale. The program was founded in 2011 with a gift from Stanford alumnus Robert King (MBA 1960) and his wife Dorothy King. It was established to bridge a critical gap in global efforts to address prosperity around the world.
