Babson SF to Host Pilot Summer Venture Program
This spring, the F.W. Olin Graduate School of Business at Babson College (Babson San Francisco) will offer a pilot version of its popular Summer Venture Program (SVP) on the college’s San Francisco campus.
The SVP provides a venue for students from Babson, Wellesley, and the Olin College of Engineering to present their ideas to both potential investors and members of the surrounding tech and business community.

College of Business Alumni Launch Facial Care Startup
Two alumni from San Francisco State University College of Business have teamed up to launch craftedbeard.com, according to a press release from the school. Hanna Azar, BS Finance ‘12, and Aaron Schulweis, BS Finance ‘12, started the project three years after they parted ways at SFSU. Food Startups Make Big Showing at UC Davis Business Competition
UC Davis recently held the Big Bang! Business Competition final and award ceremony at the UC Davis Conference Center, according to a press release from the school. Contestants pitched their companies to the audience before the awards were distributed at the event. Mark Cuban offers up to $500,000 to Booth MBA For Inflatable Lights Startup On Shark Tank
Chicago Booth MBA student Andrea Sreshta and her business partner Anna Stork appeared television’s “Shark Tank” to seek funding for their inflatable solar-powered light startup, LuminAID. The group received offers from all five investors, including entrepreneur and billionaire Mark Cuban, who made the winning bid. Cuban offered $200,000 for a 15 percent stake in LuminAID, plus an option to lead the next round of investing with $300,000. Continue reading…
