Davis Hosts MBA Fair in Sacramento
UC Davis Graduate School of Management will be hosting an upcoming MBA Fair. During this event, prospective students can get information on both the part time and full time MBA programs. The event will be held Jan. 10, 2015 in Sacramento, California from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
The fair will also feature admissions representatives from Drexel University, Sacramento State and the University of Pacific as well as GMAT and GRE exam test prep representatives Kaplan Test Prep and The Princeton Review.
Davis Holds Information Luncheon
UC Davis Graduate School of Management will be holding an information event for prospective applicants. The event will offer lunch with admissions committee members. This lunch event will be held Dec. 3, 2014 from noon to 1 p.m.
During the event, prospective students will have the opportunity to ask questions about the Full-Time and Part-Time MBA programs, learn tips on writing an effective admissions essays, how to craft a competitive application and other questions that are important to you.
UC Davis Offers Online GMAT Prep Course
UC Davis Graduate School of Management is offering a live online GMAT prep course. Davis is offering a discount to any person who has been admitted to the MBA program at the school. The course will begin Nov. 15, 2014. It will be held every week at 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Pacific Standard Time.
The live online GMAT course combines the structure of a traditional classroom course with the convenience of an online learning environment. Using UC Davis’s cutting-edge online learning platform, participants will meet live each week with your 98th-percentile GMAT instructor who will systematically teach you everything you need to know to successfully complete the GMAT.
Davis Ranked in Top Categories by The Economist
The Economist has ranked UC Davis Graduate School of Management in the top of several categories. Overall, The Economist places UC Davis among the top 8 percent of accredited MBA programs in the U.S. UC Davis is No. 39 in the U.S. and No. 68 globally.
The Graduate School of Management’s faculty quality was ranked no. 15 globally. It was ranked no. 23 globally for the percentage of graduates who received a job offer within three months of graduation, no. 32 globally for graduates’ percentage increase on pre-MBA salary and no. 35 globally for student quality.
Davis Names Interim Dean
Professor and chair of the UC Davis Graduate School of Management Department of Economics Ann Huff Stevens has been appointed interim dean of the Graduate School of Management. She will take the position October 1, 2014. Stevens will serve until the deanship is filled on a permanent basis; she will not be a candidate for the job.
He or she will succeed Steven C. Currall, dean since 2009, whom the chancellor tapped recently to fill the new role of Chancellor’s Advisor to lead the campuswide effort to develop a possible additional campus in the Sacramento region.
Davis to Hold Business Professional Networking Lunch
The UC Davis Graduate School of Management will be hosting its next Business Professional Networking Group Lunch on October 16, 2014. This Luncheon will feature UC Davis Professor Don Palmer. Palmer will be discussing his most recent published work, “Normal Organizational Wrongdoing.”
The Business Professionals Networking Group (BPNG) is an alumni affiliate group open to Graduate School of Management alumni, business partners and students. BPNG is a relationship-building platform where members can network for any reason: to learn new business strategies and skills; build alliances; and share referrals, successes, ideas, experiences and goals.
