London Business School MBAs Partner With Fashion Brands

MBA students from the London Business School recently partnered with the British Fashion Council to develop business strategies that could help talented British designers develop independent brands, according to a recent press release. Five teams of students worked with entrepreneurial brands sponsored by the Council over a two-week period in order to address the biggest challenges their businesses face as well as ways to help them grow and sustain their independent brand. Imperial Students Win it All in Milan

Five MBA students at the Imperial College Business School have recently won the SDA Bocconi International Finance Competition, according to a recent press release. The event was organized by the Finance Club of the Full-Time MBA from the SDA Bocconi School of Management in Milan. Sandeep Kumar, Henry Quiroz, Mario Abdisa, Pavika Tanveerakasem and Pakaporn Thongyai NA Ayuttaya, the five students representing Imperial at the competition, beat out students from ten top business schools, including HEC, IESE, and EMST. London Business School Study Highlights Strength of British Business

Business leaders overwhelmingly believe that Britain has been great for business in the last 50 years.

In a poll of more than 300 senior executives conducted by London Business School, 89% said that Britain has been great for business. More than half (57%) think Britain has become more innovative over the last five decades.

In the last 50 years Britain has seen boom and bust. And, despite 51% of business leaders believing uncontrolled risk-taking was the main cause of the financial crisis, we can still stomach risk. When asked about their personal attitude to risk, an overwhelming majority of business leaders (83%) still agree that measured risk-taking is an important part of business.

The First Ticketmaster Scholarship for Henley’s Music and Creative Industries MBA is Awarded

The first Ticketmaster Scholarship for the Henley Business School MBA for Music and Creative Industries has been awarded to Isabelle von Weber, Senior Legal Adviser at the British Council, the UK’s premiere organisation for international cultural relations.

Applications for the scholarship were opened earlier this year and attracted a vast array of talent from across the creative industries, including the Head of Disney Music and the Glastonbury musical director for the Green Peace stage.

Applicants were required to write an essay on leadership qualities in the live entertainment sector. Following this, a shortlist of six entrants was welcomed to Ticketmaster offices, where they took part in face-to-face interviews with Mark Yovich (President, Ticketmaster International), Simon Presswell (Managing Director, Ticketmaster UK) and Helen Gammons (Programme Director – MBA for Music & Creative Industries, Henley Business School).

Henley and Santander Offer Loan to Studying Executives

Henley Business School and Santander banking group are partnering to offer a new loan to executives in the former’s UK-based programme. Aimed at individuals looking to further their business education with part-time study whilst continuing in employment, the loan provides the opportunity to borrow up to £20,000 to help towards course fees, with market-leading rates from 4.3% APR on loans from £7,500 to £15,000.

This loan is designed to serve the business community by supporting and developing the engine room of sustained economic growth – business executives. Key to this initiative is to help widen access to education for business executives and is available to people starting or continuing Henley’s programmes including: Part-time Postgraduate courses, Executive Education programmes, Executive MBA, Flexible Executive MBA and the MBA for Music & Creative Industries.
