Haas Faculty Selected for 2015 Distinguished Teaching Award
Five members of the UC Berkeley faculty have been selected as recipients of the 2015 Distinguished Teaching Award. This is the campus’s most prestigious honor for teaching. The recipients will be honored at a ceremony on April 21, in the Zellerbach Playhouse.The award recognizes teaching that incites intellectual curiosity in students, engages them thoroughly in the enterprise of learning and has a lifelong impact.
The Distinguished Teaching Award is was created to recognize individual faculty for performance of excellence in teaching. The recipients of the award incite intellectual curiosity in students, inspires departmental colleagues and makes students aware of significant relationship between the academy and the world at large. All members of the Academic Senate and non-Senate faculty/instructors with continuing appointments are eligible.
Davis Hosts ROI Panel and Networking Mixer
UC Davis Graduate School of Management will be hosting a Return on Investment Panel and Networking Mixer. The event will be held April 9 form 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the Sacramento Education Building. During the event, prospective students can join UC Davis students, alumni and staff to learn first-hand how an MBA will expand your career, network and your return on investment. This event is free to attend and is open to all prospective students. Those interested in attending the event can complete a registration form online.
Anderson Hosts EMBA Info Session and App Tips Workshop
Anderson School of Management will be hosting an information session for its Executive MBA program. The information session will be followed by an application tips workshop for EMBA students. The events will be held April 4. The information session will be held from 8 to 9:30 a.m. and the application tips workshop will begin at 9:30 a.m. Registration for both events should be completed online prior to the events.
The EMBA information session will give prospective students the opportunity to join current EMBA students and the Director of Admissions for breakfast. The event will be held at the Executive Divining Room at UCLA Anderson. Prospective students will hear more about the EMBA program, admission process and what an Executive MBA degree from Anderson can do for your career.
Davis Offers New Alumni Fellowship
UC Davis alumni who are planning to complete the Part-Time MBA program at UC Davis Graduate School of Management are now eligible for a new Alumni Fellowship program. The Aggie Pride Alumni Fellowship program is a scholarship award created to help fund alumni business education through promoting “Aggie Pride.” Recipients of the fellowship award can receive up to $3,000 toward their MBA education. Graduates of UC Davis are informally referred to as “Aggies,” reflecting the university’s 1905 founding roots as a land grant agricultural school.
To apply, applicants must write a short essay that describes how being a UC Davis graduate has had an impact on their career and how they will continue to promote “Aggie Pride” through completing their MBA degree at Davis. The scholarship is open to applicants seeking to begin their MBA studies in the fall 2015. Applications for the fellowship are due March 18. The deadline for applying for fall admission to the UC Davis MBA programs is May 20.
Haas Hosts EWMBA Online Info Session
The Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley will be hosting an online information session for its Evening and Weekend MBA program. The event will be held March 26 from noon to 1 p.m. The event can be accessed online. All that is needed to attend is an internet connection and headphones or speakers. Those interested in attending the online information session can complete a registration form online. More information on how to access the online information session will be provided during registration.
During the event, there will be a presentation by EWMBA Admissions staff followed by question and answer session for prospective students. Current students who live outside of the Bay Area will also be available to answer any questions about commuting to the program.
Merage Holds Admissions Webinar
The Paul Merage School of Business will be hosting an upcoming webinar for prospective students. This webinar will give prospective students an inside look at what recruiters for the school are looking for in a Full-Time MBA program candidate. The webinar will be held March 10 at 3 p.m. Registration for the event will open soon.
The Full-Time MBA Program at Merage is a two-year program that follows the quarter system. The academic year typically runs from late-September to mid-June. 92 units are required to complete the program. During the second semester of the program, students have the opportunity to customize their MBA curriculum through electives. The areas of focus include, accounting, finance, global, healthcare, information systems, marketing, operation and decision technologies, organization and management, real estate, strategy and wealth management.
