USC’s Maxey Promoted to Assistant Vice Dean
Shirley Maxey, a professor of clinical accounting and management communication, has been named Assistant Vice Dean for Faculty and Academic Affairs of the USC Marshall School of Business. Starting July 1, Maxey will work with department chairs to implement new initiatives in teaching and faculty development. She will report to Gareth James, vice dean for faculty and academic affairs. Marshall Holds Annual Diversity Conference
USC Marshall School of Business held its second annual Diversity Conference on Oct. 24, 2014. The event was held in the Davidson Conference Center. More than 150 students, alumni and prospective students attended the event.
The Black Graduate Business Leaders (BGBL) and the Latino Management Business Association (LMBA) jointly hosted the event. The conference was created to bring together a number of industry leaders around the theme of the game-changing business impact of diversity.
Marshall Breaks Ground on New Business Building
USC Marshall School of Business broke ground on Jill and Frank Fertitta Hall, a visionary new building that will transform the experience of its business undergraduates. The groundbreaking occurred September 19, 2014.
The building is scheduled to open by fall 2016. Fertitta Hall will foster collaborative and technology-enabled learning, featuring state-of-the-art classrooms and expanded student areas to boost the production of cutting-edge knowledge and enhance the education of future innovators in business.
