Marshall Exec Ed Program Accepting Registration
The Marshall School of Business is now accepting registration for its next Supply Chain Management Online course. The next course will be held Feb. 25 to March 18. Prospective Executive Education students can register for individual courses or as a group.
During the program, students will learn how to evaluate a firm’s supply chain by creating effective designs and policies to maximize a return on investments and improve their ability to serve customers. The online course will help students to identify financial and operational performance.
Marshall Holds SCM Certificate Course
The USC Marshall School of Business will be holding The Financial Implications of Global Supply Chain Management Certification Course. The course will be held Jan. 10, 2015 from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. It will be held at Popovich 104, at the University Park Campus.
The content of the course explores the causal relationship between the execution of global supply chain strategies and a company’s financial results. The course is presented from a global perspective. Participants will analyze the ties between landed cost controls, lead-time rationalization and inventory management and the results found on an organization’s balance sheet, income statement and cash flow statement.
Marshall Wins GE Case Competition
A team of MBA students from the Marshall School of Business took first place at the annual General Electric Southwest Regional Case Competition. This year’s competition was held Nov. 14, at Popovich Hall.
GE makes it a point to enable personal growth by challenging future leaders early in their careers. The Case Competition is no exception. The judges for the competition arrive with deep commercial and strategic knowledge of the case. They challenge the case teams with similar rigor as GE executives challenge their employees.
Marshall Students Present Research in Beijing
Ten second-year USC Marshall School of Business MBA students presented the findings of a yearlong research project directly the APEC Business Advisory Council (ABAC) at an annual summit in Beijing. The event took place Nov. 6, 2014.
The APEC is a confederation of 21 Pacific Rim economies that encourages economic cooperation and promotes free trade among its members, which include China, Canada, Japan and the United States. It is made up of 63 business executives. Since 2003, USC Marshall has been the only business school with students who conduct research for the business arm of this group, ABAC.
Marshall Holds Annual Diversity Conference
USC Marshall School of Business held its second annual Diversity Conference on Oct. 24, 2014. The event was held in the Davidson Conference Center. More than 150 students, alumni and prospective students attended the event.
The Black Graduate Business Leaders (BGBL) and the Latino Management Business Association (LMBA) jointly hosted the event. The conference was created to bring together a number of industry leaders around the theme of the game-changing business impact of diversity.
Marshall Alum. Named Entrepreneur of the Year
The Lloyd Greif Center for Entrepreneurial Studies at the USC Marshall School of Business will honor Alumni Entrepreneur of the Year, Aaron Levie. Levie is the CEO and Co-Founder of Box, a cloud-computing business. The event will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 29, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. at the Trojan Grand Ballroom in Ronald Tutor Campus Center.
Levie launched the cloud-computing business for which he is being recognized in 2005, while a sophomore at Marshall. Now, Los Altos-based Box, a platform for online sharing and collaboration, serves approximately 20 million users across almost 200,000 businesses. Inc. Magazine also named Levie Entrepreneur of the Year in 2013.
