There’s no doubt that interacting with classmates is one of the best parts about attending an MBA program. That’s because when you surround yourself with excellence, you can’t help but excel yourself. And that’s definitely true at the USC Marshall MBA program. Not only are all Marshall MBA candidates top-tier, but they also arrive with a diversity of ideas and opinions that truly enrich the entire experience. In fact, according to the most recent class profile, 32 percent of the MBA class is composed of women, 32 percent are from outside of the U.S. and 13 percent are underrepresented minorities. Jessica Alba Speaks to Marshall Students

Jessica Alba came to USC Marshall School of Business to discuss with business students and faculty members about entrepreneurship at Bovard Auditorium on Wed., April 15. Alba came to talk about her company, The Honest Company—a purveyor of healthy, non-toxic products for families and households. She launched the business with her business partners Brian Lee and Christopher Gavigan in 2012. She spoke at for the Lloyd Greif Center for Entrepreneurial Studies and the USC Speakers Committee, as part of Greif Center co-director David Belasco’s class on the entrepreneurial mindset.

Alba started the company after she couldn’t find any truly non-toxic products for her baby. She decided to make products herself and make them available for customers online. Fueled by her love for her children and certain that other parents would respond as well, she started pitching her idea. She was initially turned down by investors, including Brian Lee.

Marshall Ranked Top 10 Schools for Vets

The USC Marshall School of Business has been ranked in the top ten of the best business schools for veterans by Military Times. Marshall was ranked as no. 9 among the 75 schools ranked by the publication in its 2015 Best for Vets rankings. This is the third year that the publication has released rankings for business schools.

The Military Times rankings are created based on scores from business schools’ survey responses to both the Business Schools survey and parts of the Colleges survey that were sent out to 150 different schools. The responses were based on what veterans said is important to them as well as on the publication’s own editorial judgment. The publication also factored in Education Department statistics commonly used to track student success and academic quality.

Marshall Offers Senior Living Exec Program

USC Marshall School of Business has joined with USC Davis to offer the USC Lead and Transform Senior Living Executive Education program. This new program will be held over the course of a two-day conference Feb. 7 and 8 on the USC University Park Campus in Los Angeles. The program aims to address the growing need for professionals that have knowledge and business skills to successfully lead communities for older adults.

The program is designed for C-level executives, officers and managers in senior housing, post-acute care and long-term care. . The focus of the program is to help define future directions in the senior living industry. The curriculum for the program is built around providing essential information for skilled professionals in this fast-growing industry.
