Stillman Launches New MBA Capstone Course
The Stillman School of Business has launched a brand new capstone course for its MBA students. The course, Integrative Experience II: Business Consulting (BMBA 9210), will give students an intense insight into the world of consulting and strategy. Students will take all of the skills and knowledge that they have learned across their time in the MBA program at Stillman and directly apply it to real-world consulting project.
For the course, students will work with their client for 10 weeks. The client for this semester’s students is th Reheroed, a start-up company that makes products with a what the company calls a “heroic past”. The company creates products from used equipment from organizations like the FDNY. The company has already had success selling products for the FDNY made from used fire hoses. There will be three student teams that will all work to learn about their client, create a market strategy and help to drive the company’s future growth.
Stillman Hosts Online Information Session
The Stillman School of Business will be hosting an upcoming information session for its Graduate Business programs. This will be a virtual information session. The event will be held March 10 at 1 p.m. and will last for one hour. The event is free to attend and open to any prospective student interested in learning more about the graduate business programs offered at Stillman. The Stillman School offers a streamlined MBA program, which is a part time program for working professions that can be completed in as little as 20 months. The program also offers eight different concentrations for its MBA program, including one of the few MBA-level specializations in Sport Management in the country
Seton Hall to Host SXSW Startup Competition
Seton Hall University has been selected to be a host for the South by Southwest Student Startup Madness Competition. Seton Hall has been selected as one of 16 expected collegiate hosts in eight regions for the competition. The final competition takes place in Austin, Texas.
The Student Startup Madness Competition is a nationwide tournament-style competition for college student digital media startups, culminating with the “Entrepreneurial Eight” national finals at South By Southwest (SXSW) Interactive. The first and regional rounds of the competition are conducted online, beginning with a selected field of 64 teams, narrowing to 32 semi-finalists and ending with the announcement of the “Entrepreneurial Eight” finalists in January.
Stillman Rated Best by Princeton Review
The Princeton Review has rated the Stillman School of Business a “Best Business School.” This is the eighth year in a row that Stillman has received this honor. Only those schools accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB International) are considered for this award, a distinction earned by only a few of the world’s business schools.
Ratings are based on review of institutional data and an 80-question student survey that focuses on academic experience, admissions selectivity, career preparation as well as quality and accessibility of professors. Reasons for student satisfaction at the Stillman School of Business is the school’s ethics-centered education, caring faculty and its vibrant learning centers.
Stillman Welcomes Betty Manetta
Stillman School of Business welcomed Distinguished Leadership Advisory Council member, Beatriz (Betty) Manetta as the guest speaker at the Integrity and Professionalism Convocation. Manetta is the President & CEO of certified minority- and female-owned Argent Associates.
Argent Associates is a supply-chain management and IT service provider focused on government, enterprise and telecommunications markets. Manetta prides herself on her intrinsically rich and prosperous journey as a businesswoman. Coupled with an influential and lively personality, the speaker of honor was able to inspire and enthuse her audience filled to the brim with students and faculty alike.
Stillman Ranked No. 23 in Public Accounting Report
In the Annual Professor’s Survey in The Public Accounting Report, the Stillman School of Business has been ranked no. 23 in the country for its Master’s in Accounting. The Public Accounting Report has named Seton Hall University as a top 25 Master’s program for schools with 15 or fewer Full-Time Accounting Faculty.
The rankings are based on votes by professors from over 200 colleges in the United States. The Public Accounting Report is the only survey in which accounting professors rank the nation’s best accounting programs.
