Wharton EMBA App Deadline Feb. 10

The application deadline for the Executive MBA at The Wharton School is Feb. 10. Prospective students who complete their application by this deadline will receive an admissions decision no later than March 31, 2015. Applicants will be considered for admission only if all of the required materials are submitted by the Feb. 10 deadline.

The cost of the Two-Year Program for the Class Entering May of 2014 was $181,500. The tuition fee includes tuition, program-related housing and meals that are a part of the residency requirement, and all class materials and books. Transportation and parking costs are not included in the tuition.

Wharton Holds Financing Your MBA Webinar

The Wharton School will be holding a webinar for prospective students who wish to learn more about how to finance their Wharton MBA. The webinar titled, “Financing Your MBA” will be held Feb. 10. The webinar will begin at 4 p.m. and last for one hour. Registration for the event is required. After registration, an email with details for logging in to the webinar will be sent.

The total amount of tuition and fees for the Full-Time MBA at the Wharton School is $68,210. This cost does include a $2,000 pre-term fee but does not include the cost of room and board, health insurance, books and supplies and other “miscellaneous” expenses that students may encounter. The estimated total cost of one year at the Wharton School, including tuition, room and board and all other costs is $97,542.

Wharton SF Hosts Retail Discussion Event

The Wharton School, San Francisco, will be hosting a discussion event about the digital revolution in the retail sector. The event titled, “The Digital Revolution in Retail Marketing: Consumer Emotions, Digital Joy and How to Win the Hearts and Minds of Your Customers” will feature Wharton professor Patti Williams and Founder and Chairman of PIRCH, Jim Stuart. The event will be held Jan. 13 at the Fairmont Miramar Hotel in Santa Monica, California from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

During the event, Prof. Williams and Mr. Stuart will discuss their views on the way that retail marketing is being affected by the increase in digital tools with attendants. They will also discuss how traditional retail and digital formats of retail are expanding and changing.

Wharton Names New Senior Fellow

The Wharton School has announced that Jonathan Greenblatt will serve as a Senior Fellow at the Wharton School starting in January.  He currently serves as the Special Assistant to the President and Director of the White House Office of Social Innovation and Civic Participation.

Greenblatt will work with the Wharton Social Impact Initiative and lecture on campus for the remainder of the 2014-2015 academic year. The Wharton Social Impact Initiative is the hub for social impact activities, information and resources at Wharton. WSII supports faculty, students and alumni in the drive to use business knowledge and practices to enhance the greater good of the local community, the nation, and the world.

Spotlight: Goizueta Grads in the Marketplace

Emory University’s Goizueta Business School takes the transition from academia to marketplace seriously. The school’s MBA programs offer extensive resources to help its students navigate this journey, and the results are evident.  In Poets and Quants‘ recently released annual analysis of best and worst MBA job placement at top business schools, Goizueta topped the list for the third consecutive year; Goizueta grads had an impressive 98 percent placement rate within three months of graduation. This year Goizueta tied with three other business schools — U Chicago’s Booth School of Business, Dartmouth’s Tuck School of Business, and Wharton at the University of Pennsylvania — for best job offer rate 3-months from graduation.

Poets and Quants also says that 2014 was the best year for MBA careers since the Great Recession despite 10 out of the top 30 schools showing small decreases in job offers from last year. Goizueta’s numbers have held steady at 98 percent for 2014, 2013 and 2012. Continue reading…

Wharton Holds Annual Energy Conference

The Wharton School will be holding this year’s annual Wharton Energy Conference Nov. 14, 2014. This year’s conference, titled “Energy Future: Bridging the Gap”, will be at the Union League of Philadelphia.

The conference aims to promote dialogue on the circumstances shaping the current global energy landscape and how the diverse sectors of the industry can be harnessed jointly to create positive change in several arenas. This collaboration of academics and students from diverse backgrounds with professionals working in renewables, energy finance, chemicals and oil and gas was created to facilitate a dialogue between sectors that are can often be complicated.
